Veteran who has won on heavy ground on three occasions. 12th of 14 last time out in a Killarney handicap over 1m6f on yielding ground. Best days may possibly be behind him now 38lbs below last winning mark.

Has put in three ineffective performances this season between 1m4f and 2m2f and well beaten in all. Looks a tall order on given form.

Improved on a series of poor Flat performances at Tramore earlier this month when third of 13, beaten 2½L, before winning over 1m4f when dropped in trip at Roscommon. Will be interesting to see if he can pull this off raised 13lb for his win.

45L behind Lord Erskine last time out at Roscommon in a below-par performance last month. Promising runs on two occasions previously but still without a win on the Flat.

Won a gutsy battle with Highland Fling at the Galway festival over 1m6f, before falling 15L behind Lord Erskine off a 5lb higher mark next time out. May have ground concerns and market will be best guide.

Won a Down Royal handicap in July over 1m2½ f but has produced tow second-rate performances since off a 4lb higher mark. Could hit the frame but others preferred.

Has been kept busy during the summer but is still a 10-race maiden. Finished last of 13 beaten 83L here yesterday in a maiden over 1m4f and market could be the best guide.

Some promising efforts this summer on the Flat at up to 1m6f, could have improvement in him and unknown at this trip.

Forecasts

Lord Erskine (7/4), Dara Tango (3/1), Shoulda Lied (9/2), Theos Well (8/1), Set To Fire (10/1), Inis Meain (11/1), Jose Echegaray (20/1), Nightly Wailing (20/1), Shoofly (33/1)

Verdict

Shoofly could be the one to take the field along in the early stages of this 1m4f contest. Lord Erskine is sure to have plenty of supporters but his form wasn't so spectacular before his win and 13lb rise last time out. Dara Tango and Shoulda Lied are viable alternatives while runner-up in this race 12-months ago, THEO'S WELL could give each-way punters a run for their money.
