Surprising to see her continuing in maidens having finished ahead of only one rival in three starts so far and now having been allotted a handicap mark. Easy to discount given her form to date.

Nathaniel filly who has some Group-level middle distance form in her pedigree. This seems a good starting point but this yard not renowned for first time out winners.

Has run solid races to finish second on both of her two starts so far, and now finds herself in an easier looking contest. Application of a hood should help her settle and give her every chance of staying this far; leading claims.

Well beaten in two starts so far, and seems to be below the requisite level to win a maiden, even a relatively weak-looking one such as this.

Made a fair debut to be beaten less than 2L into fourth. Shaped as if this step up in trip should be a help to her and from the early signs her sire's progeny seem to progress well.
Ground unlikely to have suited on her debut at Nottingham last time out, stamina to prove now stepping up in trip but looked to have something to learn on that occasion and a better showing is anticipated.

Forecasts

Symbol (30/100), Romina (11/4), The Lady Rules (20/1), Kwikstep (25/1), Sonnet Rose (66/1), Dartmoor Girl (250/1)

Verdict

This seems to be between ROMINA and Symbol. Richard Hughes' filly shades preference as she has run well on both her starts so far despite things not going to plan at Windsor last time. The addition of a hood increases the case for her staying this far (half-brother did at Group 1 level) and this seems to be her easier assignment to date. The second-named, her likely market rival, should improve for this step up in trip while The Lady Rules may prove third best leaving the heavy ground of her debut effort behind her.
  1. Romina
  2. Symbol
  3. The Lady Rules
