Not the most reliable of performers and hasn't won since June 2015 (Newcastle, turf). However, has given notice his turn is near from a reduced mark, most notably when a head second to Auspicion over 1m2f here in July.
Picked up from David Lanigan for 12,000 gns in July, and almost off to a winning start for the yard when beaten a head by Habbad at Doncaster (7f). Hindered by a wide draw at Catterick latest, but claims back on the AW.
Twice a winner at this track over 1m2f in mid summer, and closely matched with Gerry The Glover on his July success. However, this revised mark of 74 has proved beyond him for now, and he drops back in trip to 1m.
Boasts a record at this track second to none since October 2016 (1,1,1,2,2). Versatile in terms of trip (6f to 1m), and has been far from disgraced on turf more latterly. Interesting to see how he goes back here for the first time since February.
15 race maiden who deserves to find a race; runner up twice in quick succession over 1m2f on turf in mid August. Not so pleasing at Hamilton latest (too free) and drops back to 1m from a challenging looking mark.
Not won since his debut at Chelmsford in May 2016 despite plenty of subsequent attempts (19 in total). Handles Tapeta, and was a runner up over 7f here in February, but whether he quite stays 1m is questionable.
Three time career winner (6f to 1m), but broadly held from slightly higher marks on turf since winning a 1m class 5 handicap at Ripon in mid July (beat Hernando Torres by a neck). AW debut.
Won four races on the bounce on the AW over the winter, kicking off with a class 6 handicap over 7f here in November 2016. However, seemingly regressed sharply of late, and an easing mark coupled with the visor isn't enough to tempt.
Her C&D record reads 1,1,2, with that defeat coming off this mark in October 2016 (beaten ¾L by Testa Rossa). Massively consistent on turf since June (3,2,2,3,2,2,7) and impossible to rule out with this talented rider aboard.
Thrived at this track since the introduction of Tapeta (7f, and a dual C&D winner). 5lb higher than when beating the never nearer Faintly here in May, her latest effort on turf can be ignored and she's worthy of consideration at least.
A four time career winner, including at this track, but yet to taste success beyond 7f despite a clear tendency to get behind in his races. Very feasibly handicapped on course form from around this time in 2016, and a notable rider booked.
A Salisbury maiden winner for Simon Crisford in September 2015, but not as of yet able to register a success for this trainer. However, his mark is sliding, and with a 7lb claimer booked is worth noting if support arrives.
Stayed on strongly to score on his seasonal reappearance at Catterick in April (7f good to firm), but has shown only mixed form since. Still 4lb above his winning mark and the blinkers are applied for his AW bow.

Angel's Acclaim (9/2), Gerry The Glover (6/1), Totally Magic (6/1), Rock Warbler (7/1), Gun Case (7/1), Auspicion (15/2), Tailor's Row (15/2), Acrux (8/1), Yensir (11/1), Table Manners (20/1), Four Wishes (25/1), Fire Diamond (25/1), Tafteesh (33/1), Racemaker (40/1)
The most competitive contest on this evening's card without a shadow of a doubt. This race sees a number of returning Newcastle regulars go head to head seeking to retain their impressive course and in some cases course and distance records. On statistics alone, the likes of Rock Warbler, Totally Magic, and Table Manners must be considered, whilst Gun Case (yet to win beyond 7f) is undeniably well treated on his previous course form from this time last year. However, the horse to be with might be the improving three-year-old filly ANGEL'S ACCLAIM. Whilst she beat a rather exposed rival in the shape of Rey Loopy over 7f here last month, the application of cheek-pieces has clearly suited her, and from a high draw, she could well be capable of following up over this longer trip from just a 5lb higher mark.

- Totally Magic
