Notched a double when making all to score at Newmarket in June (1m4f good). Now 8lb higher than that victory, but in all fairness has continued to run well. Feasibly could have to make his own pace; albeit Voski can also front run.
Has progressed with each and every start, comprehensively taking a 1m4f maiden at Doncaster in June, and never looking stronger than inside the final furlong. Ran very well on handicap debut at Goodwood latest (1m6f, class 2) when fourth to Zenon.
Recorded the first of two career successes when a ready 3¼L winner of a 1m2f course maiden in January. His last two starts at Newbury (1m2f) represent solid efforts, but he's inching up the weights and now tries a new and longer trip.
Consistent performer for his locally based owner since getting off the mark in a 1m6f Redcar maiden handicap in May. Showed an ability to handle this C&D when beaten a short-head by Chant in August, but this is a stronger race and he's 4lb higher.
Can only be described as a disappointment since making the ideal start to his career at Lingfield in March (1m4f). A fast falling mark has yet to threaten to reap dividends, and the blinkers go on as he tries another AW venue.
Forecasts
Humble Hero (5/4), Doctor Bartolo (7/2), Amlad (4/1), New Society (9/2), Voski (16/1)
Small field affairs can often generate a muddling pace, and that so often proves detrimental to those with clear and proven stamina reserves. However, HUMBLE HERO undoubtedly brings the best single piece of form into this contest (1m6f Goodwood Class 2 fourth), and looks the standout race by race improver in the line up. With Amlad and Voski generally happy to race to the fore, a messy race looks less of a concern than it might have been in other circumstances, and despite having to contend with proven C&D performer New Society, the Haggas/Cosgrave three-year-old looks by far the most likely winner.
- Humble Hero
- New Society
- Amlad
