Steady progress of late including last time out when third of 14 beaten 1L behind Kilganer Queen at Ballinrobe over an extended 2m4f. Improvement is encouraging and could make the frame.
2
Horse silk
50/1
Only moderate effort on debut under rules at Kilbeggan and disappointed again at the same course when fifth of 11 but beaten 26L. Difficult to see a improvement in fortunes.

Brave Poppy89
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Mark Walsh| T: C Byrnes
9/10
Improved significantly on second hurdle start when second of 18 in a Roscommon maiden hurdle on soft ground in June. Comes back from an extended break but ticks the right boxes here.
4

Ceatharlach105
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: P D Kennedy(3)| T: C Bowe| D
20/1
Genuine form in six point-to-points and mostly showed a consistent amount of form. Won a point-to-point in May over 3m on good to form ground.

Champoleont110
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-12| J: Sean Flanagan| T: N Meade
11/4
Promising return when fourth of 11 in a Bellewstown maiden hurdle over 2m4f on good ground following a lay-off of over two years. Probably needed the run and can be expected to improve on that run here.
7
Horse silk
Fruits Of Gold38
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: P F Mangan| T: D Budds| D
50/1
Toiled at long odds in a series of bumpers and, though he did manage to win a 3m point-to-point on soft ground in February. Failed to finish in the Galway festival beginners chase.
8
Horse silk
100/1
Failed to show anything in six starts for previous yard and failed to fire on stable debut in a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle sent off at 100/1. Difficult to see what improvement first-time tongue-tie will bring.

Matin D'anjou39
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: A E Lynch| T: J H Culloty
9/1
Not much to shout about in three career starts in two bumpers and last time out in maiden hurdle when beaten 20L. Looks to be one with a chasing career ahead of him.
Well beaten and no impression on two career hurdle starts in July including a 32L defeat last time out at Limerick. Others make more appeal here.

Forecasts

Brave Poppy (9/10), Champoleon (11/4), Creadan Grae (3/1), Antimatter (6/1), Matin D'anjou (9/1), October Revolution (16/1), Ceatharlach (20/1), Artic Fever (50/1), Fruits Of Gold (50/1), Leah's Little Star (100/1)

Verdict

If the field allow Davy Russell to lead on the Gordon Elliott-trained CREADAN GRAE they could have a few of these in trouble some way out in this competitive contest. Both Brave Poppy who improved significantly on second hurdle start when second of 18 at Roscommon and Champoleon who could improve with first-time tongue-tie can give the selection most to think about.
  1. Creadan Grae
  2. Brave Poppy
  3. Champoleon
