Has won seven Group races in his career, most recently a Group 3 over C&D in May. Has held his form subsequently and placed in a Group 3 here last time out but needs to be back at his very best to land this and may struggle to dominate this field.
Group 3 winner at Deauville in 2015 and while he's yet to get his head in front for this yard, he's been a little unlucky on occasions and has been running well in defeat lately. Versatile ground wise and no surprise to see him run well.
C&D Group 3 winner last time out, staying on well in the closing stages and likely there's more to come on just his fifth start here. Unproven on softer ground but has claims if he handles conditions.
Has been running at a consistent level this year but needs a sizable step forward to make his presence felt here. First-time blinkers may help on that front but disappointing on soft ground last time out and others preferred.
Impressive when winning a Listed race at Cork last time, dropped in trip and front two were clear of the rest. His wins have come on soft or heavy ground so should enjoy any rain that falls and with more improvement likely, he could be hard to beat.
Winner at the Curragh in July but well beaten in a C&D Group 3 last time out. He's better than that effort and acts with cut in the ground but he has to improve in order to land this contest and needs to bounce back.
Third in a Group 1 at Chantilly last year and won a Listed race at Newmarket on return this year but hasn't held his form particularly well subsequently and seemingly the second string on jockey bookings. May be in here on pacemaking duties.
Forecasts
Sir John Lavery (11/8), Alexios Komnenos (3/1), Suedois (10/3), Psychedelic Funk (12/1), Custom Cut (14/1), Whitecliffsofdover (20/1), True Valour (25/1)
SIR JOHN LAVERY looks to be the one to side with after an impressive win at Cork last time out. Suedois has been a little unlucky not to have won in recent times and can't be dismissed if we get a truly run race. Alexios Komnenos may prove best of the rest after a C&D win last time out.
- Sir John Lavery
- Suedois
- Alexios Komnenos
