Solid performer at Stratford (2,1,1,2), but also successful over a shorter trip at this track in his days as a hunter chaser. Never quite able to get on terms with Honkytonktennessee latest (2m6f+ good), but willing and claims off the same mark.
Has won three times over fences from 19 starts, enjoying a productive spell in mid summer at just shy of 3m (Fakenham and Worcester scorer). Likes to lead and up the weights now, but his sole hurdles success came at this track (2m1f).
Course winner (2m4f) in May, but is the type who tends to flatter to deceive. Remains high in the weights at present and needs to definitively prove his stamina over this trip so best overlooked.
All out to record a ½L victory over Dreamsoftheatre at Market Rasen last month (many fences omitted due to the low sun), and raised 4lb in the weights. Stays well and has improved for this trainer.
Enigmatic, but showed his finer side by signing off for Sue Smith with a summer Cartmel double. 7lb higher than his latest July success, but ran well here last week when 2L second to Highbury High (2m3f+ good). Stable saddled a winner on Tuesday.

Play The Ace (5/4), The Doorman (9/2), Rough Justice (9/2), Brother Scott (5/1), Court Dismissed (7/1), Perseid (8/1)
One of the trickier races on the card to assess with a number of previous course winners (so often advantageous at Sedgefield) in the line up. Brother Scott has been on a upward curve of late, and his trainer saddled a winner at Hexham on Tuesday, but he's higher in the weights now and occasionally didn't always appear to find much at the finish in his younger days. Rough Justice has seemingly improved since a switch to John Wainwright, but his Market Rasen success came in a rather odd race (all of the fences in the home straight omitted). Therefore, the game and honest Stratford specialist PLAY THE ACE gets the nod from the same mark that he vainly chased home Honkytonktennessee off over a similar trip in July.
