Showed understandable signs of greenness on what was still a decent debut effort when 20-1 and beaten only 1L into fourth at Newmarket last month. Entitled to come on a fair bit for that and if so, she should be thereabouts again.
€35,000 yearling. Second foal of a 7f AW juvenile winning half-sister to the Group-placed 6f two-year-old winner La Presse and another Listed-placed 1m winner. Nice enough pedigree and market check suggested.
Didn't look the easiest of rides when 10-1 and a 4½L fifth of 11 on debut at Kempton (7f, AW) last month. Could do better for the experience and won't be found wanting from the saddle, though clearly carries risks.
Outperformed her 14-1 SP on debut at Newmarket (6f, soft) when a 3L third last month. Can build on that now stepped up in trip and should not be far away.
35,000 gns yearling. Eighth foal and a half-sister to five winners including Mabait (6f-1m, inc. Listed). Dam an unraced daughter of 1m5½f Listed winner Nemesia. Stable's juveniles/fillies always merit respect. Can go well on debut.
First foal of a 7f two-year-old/1m2f winning half-sister to 1m and 1m2f Group 1 winner Mount Nelson and 1m4f Group 2 winner Monitor Closely. Yard not having its best year with turf juveniles (4%) but a market check suggested.
First foal of a 5¾f/6f placed (at two) mare, who is a half-sister to Group-placed 7f-1m winner Truth Or Dare, out of a maiden full-sister to 7f juvenile Group 1 winner Necklace. Trip ought to suit, though yard 0-9 with juveniles on turf this year.
Fourth foal and a half-sister to 1m1½f-1m4f placed Classic Mission. Dam placed 7f-1m2f and a half-sister to a 1m2f Listed winner, also grandaughter or 1m Group 2 winner Lisadell. Yard 1-8 with turf juveniles in 2017.
Comfortably accounted for on both starts to date at Doncaster and Kempton. Sticks to 7f here and returns to turf, but she is shaping up as though nurseries will be more her game.
85,000 gns yearling. First foal of a 5f-6f winning half-sister to the Group-placed 6f-7f winner Burnwynd Boy, out of a half-sister to 7f two-year-old Listed winner Triskel. Stable 23% with its turf juveniles in recent seasons. Interesting.
Forecasts
Clairette (10/11), Final Set (10/3), Goodnight Girl (5/1), Marble Statue (10/1), Shaherezada (12/1), Shikoba (20/1), Melodies (33/1), Empress Rose (50/1), Parmenter (66/1), Nyala (100/1)
Final Set looked a bit awkward on debut and will need to show a bit more application this time if she is to break her duck and preference is for CLAIRETTE, who can build on a promising first effort. Goodnight Girl produced something promising to build on last time and could get involved at the business end, while of the newcomers Marble Statue and Shikoba have nice pedigrees and represent stables who do well with juveniles, so good performances would not surprise.
- Clairette
- Shikoba
- Marble Statue
