Has improved across his three starts in novices' company and showed last time that he handles some cut. Looks reasonably treated for this nursery intro and could be there at the business end.

Ran well in a stronger contest at Goodwood a couple of starts ago (7f, soft), though disappointed last time. Now 3lb lower than his Goodwood run, if he can get back to that form he has claims.

Put up his best effort yet when stepped up to this trip at Brighton last time and beaten just ½L. Handles good to soft and looks fairly treated for this handicap debut. Market check advised.

Golden Footsteps22
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-7| J: L P Keniry| T: E Walker| OR:  70

Her best of three runs so far in novices' company was at Newbury (6f, good to firm), so trip and conditions are slight concerns going into this nursery debut from what would be a tough mark if she runs as she did over this trip last time.

Shovel It On23

Has scored at both Leicester (7f, soft) and Nottingham (6f, good) on his last two starts in nurseries and gone up 11lb as a result. More needed then to complete the hat-trick, but couldn't rule out him finding it now back up in trip.

Was gelded prior to his most recent run and was able to make a return to better form when beaten less than 3L at Epsom (7f, good to firm). Well beaten on his only previous try on good to soft, so still a bit to prove but not ruled out.

Reverberation29

Handled good to soft on his debut, though was well beaten when it got softer next time. Best effort so far came on good to firm (7f) at Brighton last time out and he doesn't look badly treated on that evidence for his nursery intro.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: P J Dobbs| T: R M Beckett| OR:  68

Put in a couple of promising runs over 6f in June, but was upped in grade/trip last time at Newmarket for his nursery debut and beaten 19½L. Likely to prove better than that bare form and both gelded and drop 2lb prior to this return to the track.

Move To The Frontv130

Beaten 9½L behind Shovel It On at Leicester (7f, soft) last time, on his nursery debut. Conditions were foul that day and he can be forgiven that effort. Now visored and dropped 2lb, he could showed improved form.

Looked to be shaping nicely when a 2L fourth on her second start at Chepstow (6f, good) in July, but was a 14L last of 11 on the Polytrack when stepped up to 7f at Kempton. Cheekpieces added for this return to turf, though others make more appeal.

Has improved for each run so far and makes her nursery debut from a potentially attractive mark here. Step up in trip should suit and top pilot on board for the first time. Should make a bold showing.

Tiny Tempest16
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-2| J: Charles Bishop| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR:  65

Has run to a similar level of form in all three runs so far from 6f-1m in novices' company. Mark looks fair for her nursery intro and stable has been among the winners of late, so a market check is suggested to gauge any confidence.

Another who has put in three similar efforts in novices and maidens so far, though has looked well held each time. Should prove better than his initial handicap mark and you wouldn't rule out a better performance this time.

Verdict

A tricky puzzle to solve and caution is advised here with so many nursery newcomers involved. However, it to one of those we turn with the suggestion of DANDIESQUE as a tentative selection. An improving filly, she might just have got in a little light here. Stable companion Sotomayor is not ruled out, while Jo's Girl has claims from this mark if you can forgive her latest run. A close eye on the market looks necessary, with Reverberation, hat-trick seeking Shovel It On, Adulate, Chai Chai and Trogon others to consider.
