Winning start under rules last month at Sligo (2m½f, good), only just holding on in the end. Should have more to come and longer trip doesn't rate a concern. Can mount another bold bid.

Won over 2m at Kilbeggan in April, found things tougher in two hurdles runs since and now attacks this longer trip for the first time.

Much-improved effort last time on sixth hurdles starts when landing a maiden over 2m3½f on good to yielding ground at Kilbeggan 13 days ago. This appears to be a good deal tougher.

One win from 13 starts over timber, came at Tramore over 2m5f in June in maiden company. Disappointing in five runs since, including at same venue last month on first chase start.

Scored in good style over 2m3f at Cork early last month off a mark of 95, perhaps 2m at Tramore since and an 11lb hike proved a poor combination, not discounted now back over longer journey.

No win in eight starts over these obstacles, appearing as if much more at home jumping fences (1-5, placed twice). Up against things here on form.

Fair winner on the Flat, runner-up last month at Ballinrobe and Downpatrick over flights, both runs over longer trips. Not ruled out now coming back in distance.

Forecasts

Ten Theatre (5/2), Hardback (5/2), Vinnie Luck (4/1), Masterson (8/1), Slievenamon (8/1), Creative Talent (14/1), Naturally Blond (16/1)

Verdict

SLIEVENAMON appeared to turn a corner when winning in really good style at Cork last month over this sort of trip, a race from which the fourth home has since won twice. She perhaps found the drop back to 2m at Tramore a bit sharp and might be worth forgiving in the hopes that she'll return to that upwards curve now upped in journey. Hardback made an impressive winning start Sligo and is respected, also going in trip, for leading connections while Masterson and Ten Theatre are also considered in an open heat.
  1. Slievenamon
  2. Hardback
  3. Ten Theatre
