2-2 at this track and only 2lb higher than latest win here in June, so no problem with his mark, but the worry would be that faster ground seems to suit him best. Recent rain could be an issue then, and on that, others are preferred.
Came good at Doncaster In July but handicapper has looked in charge since then, and he could only plod on into a modest third here last time out. Likely ground another issue and he makes only limited appeal.
Can take a hold in his races, and with no guaranteed pacemaker here, that's a concern straight away. Hard to win with and can hang under pressure too, and still unsure if this trip suits. Too many questions to answer.
In good form since returning from a break, getting up late at Newmarket over this trip last time out and handicapper has been sensible with a 3lb rise. Handles most ground, is consistent, and has to be on anyone's shortlist.
First run for new yard after leaving David Evans, and hasn't been seen out for a year. Form had tailed right off when last seen and can only really be watched taking a big step up in trip today.
Has been running over further and came good over 12f at Ffos Las in June. Ran well again next time but well below par latest and it may be the handicapper has caught up with her. Trip a concern too and others are preferred.
2011 the last tie he tasted success and although there's been the odd glimmer of hope over hurdles this summer, that win stat is more than enough to make you look elsewhere for the winner.
Generally runs to a consistent level but hard to win with (twice a beaten favourite this summer) and needs to bounce back from a below-par effort at Yarmouth last time. Ran well over C&D in May, which gives hope, but more likely to place than win.
Forecasts
Sparte Quercus (11/4), Seven Clans (3/1), Priors Brook (7/2), Angelical (6/1), Rowlestonerendezvu (7/1), Glorious Poet (8/1), Cry Fury (40/1), Peak Hill (66/1)
With no guaranteed pacemaker here, this could turn into a bit of a sprint up the straight and a degree of caution is advised. SEVEN CLANS probably won't mins a messy pace and ticks plenty of boxes here. He looks the most likely winner. Angelical might go better here having shown up well in a similar event in May, and may be next best. Priors Brook has an impeccable record here but may find it coming to an end unless it dries out.
- Seven Clans
- Angelical
- Priors Brook
