It's been some time since he raced on the Flat but ran a good race over hurdles at Tramore last month. Disappointing at Wexford last time and betting market likely to reveal his chance on return to this sphere.

Just one win from 16 starts to date but has shaped like a return to form is imminent on a couple of occasions this season, most recently at the Curragh. Has won over shorter than this so drop back in trip not too much of a concern.

Sole win in 15 starts came in a claimer earlier in the year at Gowran Park. Placed just once in five starts since and very disappointing at Leopardstown last time but not out of this on some of his form and he's run okay on the AW before.

Struggling badly of late but formerly useful and won on debut at Newbury before smart efforts at Newmarket and York as a three-year-old. Trainer and jockey won this last year and can't be discounted at these weights.

Winner at Chelmsford towards the back end of 2016 but has struggled on two starts this time around for new yard and hard to fancy.

Has been running well in recent times but very disconcerting he refused to race at Bellewstown last time and had done that earlier in his career at Dundalk. Comes out well at the weights but seemingly not one to trust.

Winner at Gowran Park on final start of 2015 but not seen at all last year and she's been well beaten on all four starts this time around. Hard to fancy currently.

Well beaten on all eight starts, including two runs over hurdles at the start of his career and others preferred on all known form.

Still a maiden after 22 starts and has only placed on one of those occasions, coming over a shorter trip than this. Can be slowly away.

Forecasts

Monteverdi (7/4), Il Piccolo Grande (3/1), Edification (9/2), Zanjabeel (9/2), Military Hill (10/1), Possible Future (16/1), Molans Mare (33/1), Vitalized (33/1), Atlantic Jet (50/1)

Verdict

EDIFICATION could be the one to beat on his return to this sphere and the betting market could be a good indicator to his chance after some respectable hurdles efforts. Zanjabeel can't be ruled out but he's hard to recommend after refusing to race for the second time in his career last time out. Jamie Osbourne and Kate Harrington won this contest last year with Room Key and Monteverdi gives them a live each-way chance in this year's renewal.
  1. Edification
  2. Zanjabeel
