For this summer has been a bit patchy, but nothing wrong with his close second at Haydock in July. Higher all weather mark reflects his liking for the surface, and although likely to get own way up front, best recent form is at 5f.
Infrequent winner these days (just one win in the last two years) but doing little wrong at present, doing well to finish as close as he did considering he blew the start at Haydock last time. Has the plot draw and not ruled out.
Has form on sand surfaces but his form this year has taken a turn for the worse, and not even a big drop in grade could spark him back into life last time. Needs the switch back to an artificial surface to work the oracle, and that looks unlikely.
Seems to reserve his best form for Southwell and Chelmsford, not in the frame in six starts here, which is a concern. Likes to come with a late rattle and may not get the breakneck pace he desires here either. Others preferred.
In good form at present, only found Brighton specialist Black Caesar too good there last time and has gone well over this C&D this season. Looks one of the more likely ones to run his race and ought to be thereabouts.
Falling fast in the handicap after some very moderate efforts over a variety of trips this year. Makes very little appeal at present.
Forecasts
Dutiful Son (3/1), Nezar (7/2), Secondo (4/1), Clear Spring (6/1), Exceed The Limit (7/1), Captain Lars (7/1), Razin' Hell (12/1)
Razin Hell looks certain to blaze the trail, but might find himself vulnerable in that last 200 yards. NEZAR is the one in form and may be able to get back to winning ways here. Clear Spring can give him most to think about if he gets it right at the gates.
