Has fallen 13lb in the weights since mid July, but consequently that means his efforts over fences have been moderate ones. However, this trainer got the best out of him earlier in his career (over hurdles) and this shorter trip could suit.

Landed the hat-trick when recording a fourth C&D success from a 9lb lower mark last month (beat Dica by 6L). Likely to race to the fore and as we've seen here with many other horses, proven course form often thwarts the handicappers efforts.

Another horse that is well suited by Hexham, with both career successes coming at this track (2m & 2m4f). Fairly solid over fences lately, even upto 3m at Perth latest, but probably not startlingly well handicapped.

Hasn't tasted success since July 2016 (for Dan Skelton) despite numerous attempts, and whilst he's largely consistent that doesn't go unnoticed by the assessor. Southwell probably doesn't suit, but his latest start was a more moderate performance.

Elder stablemate of Quick Brew who is a three time winner in 58 career starts. His chasing mark has dropped 9lb since finishing runner up at Newcastle in April, but he was comfortably held (fifth) by Miss Conway over C&D last month.

Verdict

A 9lb rise in the weights will undoubtedly make an impression on MISS CONWAY, but as we've seen with many other horses at Hexham recently (i.e. Beyondtemptation), proven course form and a propensity to be racing against similar horses race after race makes the handicappers job particularly tricky. Mark Walford's mare is a four time C&D winner yet still receives weight from a couple of older more exposed rivals, and the suspicion is that a revised mark of 105 won't prove a 'stopper' for this likeable prominent racing mare.
  1. Miss Conway

  3. Quick Brew
