Certainly enters calculations based on his recent form which includes two wins both at Ayr over 6f. Not disgraced off this mark last time out at Carlisle and sure to run a solid race again in this grade.
Won over C&D in June not really needing to be at her best in what was essentially a weak maiden. Three handicap starts since then haven't really shown much and even though her mark is falling she looked less than keen last time out.
There was support for him last time out off what had become a falling mark showing more than he had on his previous runs. If he can build on that last run he'll be of some interest here as he's been eased another 2lb now.
Had hinted at a revival when winning at Catterick in a weaker event than this in Catterick handling the soft ground which was also in his favour well. Not the most consistent though and he's failed to repeat that run in three attempts and now has the headgear removed.
Only has one decent piece of form to his name this year but that came over C&D in a far better race than this off 4lb higher. Cheekpieces used then and now back to a visor and could be of interest on that earlier form here.
Much of his best form has come here with all her three wins being achieved here (one over C&D) the latest off 51 in July over 5f. Appeared to have struggled in two races since both over 5f but may appreciate a return to this trip.
Still a maiden after 21 Flat runs although he has looked as though he can win something like this of late having run well on a couple of occasions over this trip. Tried over 7f last time but does shape as though 6f will suit far better.
Really has yet to fire for this yard having run over a couple of sprint trips for them and now off a career low mark. Visor tried last time is now left off and despite being a C&D winner he can't really be trusted here.
Dropped into selling grade last time out over 7f and gambled on he proved a real disappointment never really appearing happy on his last start for the O'Meara yard. Now makes his debut for a new trainer back over 6f and with cheekpieces on first time.
Just the one win to this one's name and that came in an even more lowly grade than this 0-65. Wore cheekpieces for the first time when showing little last time out struggling from around halfway over 7f.
Forecasts
Avenue Of Stars (4/1), Eltanin (9/2), Racquet (9/2), Be Bold (11/2), Jacksonfire (6/1), Urban Spirit (11/1), Souls In The Wind (12/1), Dutch Dream (14/1), Sir Domino (20/1), Mr Conundrum (50/1)
This doesn’t look as strong as the first division and it may be worth taking a chance with AVENUE OF STARS who is well handicapped if he can build on his last run having scored off 8lb higher last year. Racquet has shown the most consistent form in the field and is more than likely to run his race again with Eltanin and Jacksonfire two others that come into the equation. Urban Spirit is another capable of improvement if the cheekpieces and a move to Roger Fell’s yard work the oracle.
- Avenue Of Stars
- Racquet
- Eltanin
