Impressive winner at York in May but handicapper refusing to relent after two poor runs since and may have been flattered by the manner of his latest victory. Booking of talented 3lb claimer will help but others preferred.
Struggling at pattern level since a win at Haydock and struggled off a 3lb higher mark at the Goodwood Festival when last seen. Needs to bounce back to play any role here.
Has won nine times in his career but only one win off this mark or higher and that came in a less competitive event that this. Ran well at Goodwood last time and place claims with a useful 3lb claimer booked.
Winner at Newmarket in 2015 but hasn't managed to score since his mark has been revised. Seemingly needs a fast pace to be seen at his best, similar to what he got back at Newmarket last time but a 3lb rise for that run won't help.
C&D winner two starts back, despite racing keenly and not disgraced when settling better in a Group 3 at Haydock last time out. Only 2lb higher than his winning mark but may want faster ground to be seen at his very best.
Goodwood maiden winner last year and impressive when winning at Kempton on return. Doesn't look the easiest ride though and has refused to settle on his last couple of efforts. Given some time off but will need to have learnt plenty in the interim.
Improved markedly since joining this yard and arrives here in search of a four-timer after completing a hat-trick over C&D last time. 10lb rise not unfair but he's likely to find it hard to dominate this field.
Losing run mounting up now and hasn't been at his best since joining this yard. Ran better at Ascot last time out but others look on better handicap marks and possibly better over further than this.
Rattled off a hat-trick last year culminating in a win over C&D last June. Should come on for his run at Yarmouth last month but he's best when allowed to front run and there's plenty of competition for the lead in the line up.
Winner on debut at Lingfield last year and came on for his reappearance at Yarmouth with an easy win at Haydock in July. Too keen to do himself justice at the Goodwood Festival but claims if he settles better.
Ended a long losing run at Lingfield earlier in the year and received a smart ride at Yarmouth when winning again in July. Not disgraced at the Goodwood Festival last time but he's never won off a mark this high.
Recorded a hat-trick back in 2015 when winning a valuable Haydock handicap but not seen the winner's enclosure since. Ran well here a couple of starts back and looks on a lenient mark but this is more competitive. Booking of De Sousa is a bonus.
Arrives here in a hat-trick bid and would have won by further if he hadn't of hung under pressure last time. 4lb rise fair on that basis but his supporters won't want to see a return on that trait here.
Forecasts
Across Dubai (4/1), Thundering Blue (11/2), Euginio (6/1), Silver Ghost (13/2), Monarchs Glen (9/1), Shabbah (12/1), Mutarakez (14/1), Pacify (16/1), Oasis Fantasy (16/1), Master Carpenter (16/1), Abdon (16/1), Rotherwick (20/1), Noble Gift (50/1)
Provided THUNDERING BLUE doesn't hang under pressure, a trait not seen before his latest win at Newmarket, he could be the one to beat in his bid for a hat-trick. Across Dubai is relatively unexposed and is an interesting runner if he can settle better while Silver Ghost ought to give it a good go from the front in his bid for a fourth straight win.
