Cost €85,000 as a yearling. Dam a winner at around this trip and related to 5f Group 3 winner Splashing. Improved from his debut to finish runner-up here and better again at the Goodwood Festival last time. Sets a fair standard.

Bated Breath colt, half-brother to the tough four-time Group 1 winner Twice Over and dam a Listed winner. Pedigree suggests he will want further and debut said similar but can't be dismissed with a beautiful pedigree.

Royal Applause gelding, cost 8,000 gns as a foal and £38,000 as a yearling. Half-brother and dam both won over this trip but far too green to do himself justice on debut and others preferred.

Roderic O'Connor colt, dam a winner over this trip and stayed a little further. Yard have been a little quiet lately and their debutantes often need the run.

Denounce gelding, cost 4,200 gns as a foal. Dam a moderate winner over an extender 1m3f. Shaped nicely in a very hot looking debut at Yarmouth but couldn't really get into things after a slow start. Better expected here.
Dubawi colt, cost 575,000 gns as a yearling. Related to several winners, most notably Monitor Closely and Mount Nelson. Beautifully bred and likely to be bang there for in form yard.

Exceed And Excel colt, cost 150,000 gns as a yearling. Ninth foal who is a half-brother to various winners including Coquet and Midnight Oil. May want further than this but yard in excellent form with their juveniles and he can't be dismissed.

Dark Angel colt, cost 77,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to four winners including Listed winner Consort. Very disappointing on debut when last of eight and needs to take a big step forward here.

Big Bad Bob gelding, cost €16,000 as a yearling. Dam a half-sister to Group placed King's County. Yard had a big priced debutante at the Goodwood Festival win but they generally need their first outing and looks opposable.

Harbour Watch colt, cost 60,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to two winners over this trip and dam was Listed placed. Test looks suitable on debut and could run well for a yard that do well for this owner.

Shamardal colt, half-brother to Group 3 winner Convergence who won over this trip as a two-year-old, amongst others and dam a half sister to Group 3 winner Tactic. Holds multiple Group entries and this looks a suitable test on debut; could run well.

Lethal Force filly, cost 92,000 gns as a foal and 43,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a half-sister to Group 1 winner Dick Whittington. Beautifully bred but very green on debut and may need more time to be seen at her best.

Forecasts

Bathsheba Bay (10/11), Zaajer (4/1), Graffiti Master (9/2), La La Land (8/1), Exprompt (12/1), Breath Caught (14/1), Dirilis Ertugrul (14/1), Echo Cove (16/1), Isle Of Man (20/1), Port Of Call (33/1), Pompey Chimes (40/1), Ocean Side (40/1), Gembari (50/1), Caviar Royale (66/1), Quick Recovery (66/1)

Verdict

GRAFFITI MASTER could be the one to beat for a yard who have to be respected with their juveniles in these races. Isle Of Man represents the Clive Cox yard who also do well with their younger horses but Zaajer and Batsheba Bay are preferred for the places and it's the latter who sets the standard having had three runs already.
  1. Graffiti Master
  2. Bathsheba Bay
  3. Zaajer
