Has been in great form for much of this season, running both Acapulco and Washington DC close, placed in a G2 last time and this is easier, but a slight question mark if the ground remained on the soft side.

On the plus side, handles soft ground well, as he showed earlier in the season at Nottingham but that was only a Class 2 affair, so needs more stepping up in grade here. Others preferred.

Will handle the likely slow conditions fine and ran well over C&D earlier in the month, showing good speed and keeping on. This is a little tougher but he can't be discounted.

Improving in leaps and bounds and could not have been any more impressive when winning a competitive handicap at the Curragh latest. Handles soft ground and has won fresh before, so has plenty going for him again here.

She's clearly going the right way and has improved a little with each start this season, but she's taking a fair step up the grading ladder on anything she's achieved so far. Is a C&D winner but this likely slower ground also asks a new question.

Has her plus points, the main one being her form at the track (three times a winner here) and she does handle soft ground, but her recent form isn't anything to write home about. Needs to do more here, and others preferred.

Latest effort easily enough forgiven, as 7f probably too far for her, but previous efforts very mixed, to say the least. May do better back on slower ground here but in truth, she needs to.

Has shown plenty of speed in her five starts to date, far from disgraced behind Caravaggio in May but not seen since running below par at Cork in June. Break may have freshened her up and if handling the slower conditions, may go well.

Improving 3-y-o that's not been out of the first three in any of her last six starts, C&D winner here in July but that was on much quicker ground and even her best form leaves her short of what's needed here.

Forecasts

Son Of Rest (11/8), Ardhoomey (3/1), Magic Bear (7/1), Alphabet (7/1), Spirit Quartz (8/1), Gorane (14/1), Green Door (14/1), Snowstar (16/1), Ostatnia (25/1), Sahreej (66/1)

Verdict

It's entirely possible that the improving 3-y-o SON OF REST can lead these from pillar to post and can take this en route to better things this autumn. Ardhoomey has a small question mark against him as far as the ground goes, but he's certainly got the class to get involved. Last year's winner Spirit Quartz may be best of the rest.
