This C&D winner isn't too well drawn here on the wide outside and that draw will make life hard. Slips back down below his last winning mark here and ran well enough last time without looking as though he could win this.
Finally delivered on some promising efforts when winning at Ayr in a lower grade than this off a mark of 63. That run and a subsequent second saw him rise in the handicap to a mark in the 70s and he's never won off such a mark.
Has been given a chance by the handicapper having started the season on a mark of 80. Couldn't really land a blow last time out when finishing fourth at Thirsk but should be able to build on that and this is her level.
His last two starts have shown him in good form and he quite possibly ran as well in defeat last time as when winning the time before. Possibly made his effort too soon last time out and should be competitive off this mark.
A C&D winner on his last start he wasn't in the same form last time returned to his beloved Beverley where he usually runs well. He has been very busy of late and may have been feeling the effects of that period and has questions to answer.
She is nicely drawn to repeat the tactics that were tried last time (went from the front) but she's not been in much form this year overall. Given her form this year she can only really be watched even from the favourable draw.
Generally a competitive sort in this grade and he came good under an amateur riders' race on his penultimate start off a 4lb lower mark. Ran poorly last time out off a very short break and may do better here.
A multiple winner at this course he finally came good at Redcar in an amateur event over a mile ending a year long losing run. He's never been the most consistent though of late and ran a really poor race last time out and best watched.
Continues to look out of sorts this year and now tried with a tongue-tie on for the first time and despite a decent draw and a slight drop in grade he can only be watched here.
Had an excuse when disappointing on his handicap debut (saddle slipped) but ran poorly last time out again. Comes from a yard that is clearly in form and well drawn so there are a couple of positives but still not that compelling.
There have been occasions when he has shown his form around here but approaching the veteran stage now. Has been below form of late though and not that well drawn here and others are preferred.
Forecasts
Masarzain (15/8), Flinty Fell (6/1), Crazy Tornado (7/1), Billy Roberts (7/1), Ellaal (10/1), Relight My Fire (10/1), Lil Sophella (10/1), Remember Rocky (14/1), Cyflymder (25/1), Foresight (25/1), Danny Mc D (50/1)
Very few of these have solid profiles and some of those with better chances will have to overcome a wide draw and marks that they have struggled off in the past. Billy Roberts and Crazy Tornado would be two that fit into those categories although neither is totally written off. MASARZAIN probably did too much early last time out and held onto a little longer should be able to maintain his good run of form. Lil Sophella is interesting on her old form and off this mark if she can overcome her wide draw with Remember Rocky capable of bouncing back to form.
- Masarzain
- Lil Sophella
- Billy Roberts
