Now 7lb higher than when winning on his penultimate start at Redcar (6f good to soft) earlier in the month, but showed he can compete from this mark when third in the Great St Wilfrid consolation race latest. This extra yardage is the main concern.
Won twice over C&D (with cut) in October 2016, and fairly solid of late from similar marks to this one. Probably didn't quite see out the trip at Ripon latest (1m) and a drop to this much sharper 7f looks ideal.
Likes to race to the fore and was progressive as a juvenile in the latter part of 2016, winning over 6f here at Catterick and at Wolverhampton. Off the track for almost 12 months and now tries a longer trip seeking a career best performance.
Made a winning debut for this trainer at Haydock in June (6f soft), but beaten on both starts since, including by Magical Effect at Redcar latest. Worth a go over this longer trip in the first time eye-shield.
Regular winner (including over C&D), but hasn't tasted success for over 12 months now. Handicapper gradually relented and now back down to his last winning mark, so has definite claims.
Won just once in 18 career starts, over 7f at Wetherby in July 2015, but was regularly placed from higher marks throughout 2016. His Chester third in May gives him reasonable claims if the first time blinkers have a positive effect.
Had appeared stronger on synthetics than on turf, until bolting up by 7L under a positive forcing ride over C&D earlier in the month (soft). 10lb higher as he seeks to follow up on ground he should handle.
A dual C&D winner earlier this year, winning by 4L from a 5lb lower mark here in May. Has retained her form since despite the attentions of the handicapper, and wasn't disgraced when third to the progressive Peach Melba at Leicester latest (7f).
Has generally regressed since a pleasing seasonal return at Redcar in May, and folded tamely at Thirsk (7f good) earlier in the month. Undeniably well treated on his very best form, but hasn't appeared capable of reproducing that level for a while.
Picked up from David Lanigan for 12,000 gns in July, and almost off to a winning start for the yard when beaten a head by Habbad at Doncaster less than a fortnight ago. Major claims from a 4lb higher mark despite the moderate draw.
Carlisle specialist who made all at that venue to down Rely On Me by ÂľL in mid July (6f). Unlikely to be beaten solely by this mark (2lb higher) but possibly most effective shy of 7f.

Tadaawol will attract most of the attention after bolting up over C&D under different riding tactics earlier in the month. However, with a 10lb rise to contend with, there are plenty of others with reasonably strong form to take him on with this afternoon. Johnny Cavagin has slipped to a winning mark and should run a solid race, whilst Shouranour is ideally suited by 7f at this track. Magical Effect is in excellent order at present for Ruth Carr and can be involved if staying this longer trip, but ACRUX looks the likeliest winner. His draw isn't ideal, but he made a pleasing start for David O'Meara at Doncaster recently, and new to that stable, there should be plenty more to work upon despite a 4lb higher mark.
