At her best when there is some cut in the ground and a former French Group 3 winner when with Francois Doumen. Would like some more rain, sports first-time hood and not out of the equation on second start for this yard.
Lightly-raced and ran solid race when third in a Group 3 over 1m2f (good) here in May, been off since and others may have clearer win potential in this field.
Good second at Pontefract latest when not getting the run of the race, has previously come up shy in Group-race company but worthy of a shot at this prize.
Listed winner over an extended 1m3f at Roscommon (good to yielding) last month, unable to land a blow in 1m4f Cork Group 3 since. Drop in trip may help.
Started the season in excellent form, back-to-back wins including Listed C&D contest over this sort of trip. Lost way a bit since and yard also enduring a tough spell of late. Cheekpieces are added now.
Winner of Listed fillies' contest over a mile at Naas on final start last year, showed promise to be second over same trip at Goodwood in May on return and off since. Up in trip, yard are going great guns and rates a contender.
Won first three starts for William Haggas in Britain this year, reportedly bled when disappointing in Listed Pontefract contest (1m4f) in June and switched to this yard subsequently. Market check needed but may need some time.
Winner of a maiden at Clonmel earlier this year over this sort of trip, ran fair race in Irish Oaks (beat 11¼L) but since been a shade disappointing at this level down at Gowran Park. More need, though yard are going well.
Dundalk maiden winner (1m, AW) and ran fair race in Listed company over that trip at Killarney last month, beaten 4¾L in fifth. Lightly-raced and could improve on that now going beyond a mile for the first time.
Maiden winner here over a mile last month, well beaten off since in Listed Gowran Park race over this sort of trip, form that leaves her with a bit to find against some of these rivals.
Listed winner at Naas over 1m2f earlier in the summer, comes here needing to rebound from below par showing in Cork Group 3 over 1m4f this month. Others more persuasive.
Lightly-raced filly, she was back on song last time at Gowran Park, giving best to Alluringly by a neck in a Listed fillies' contest over this sort of trip. Trainer going really well now and goes high on the shortlist.
Winner of a 7f maiden here last month but has work to do with a few of these rivals based on effort behind Alluringly in a Listed fillies' contest over this sort of trip at Gowran Park earlier in the month. Must improve.
Broke her maiden over 1m at Limerick (good to firm) in June but well beaten in Listed/Group races since at Killarney (1m) and Cork (1m4f) and has a stiff task on her hands again seemingly on form.
Twice finished second in Group 1 company last month, over 1m2f and 1m4f here, that form puts her front and centre for this race, assuming trip to the United States since hasn't taken any toll on her. One of four for Ballydoyle, the choice of Moore.
Forecasts
Rain Goddess (11/4), Intimation (11/4), Making Light (9/2), Dawn Of Hope (8/1), Glamorous Approach (14/1), Beautiful Morning (16/1), Aim To Please (16/1), Key To My Heart (20/1), Aurora Butterfly (25/1), Flying Fairies (33/1), Dilmun (40/1), Signe (40/1), Pavlenko (50/1), Puppetshow (66/1), Kamili (100/1)
An intriguing race in prospect here. Aidan O'Brien has won three of the last five and Rain Goddess boasts super credentials after twice finishing second at the top level last month. She's been to America since however and that journey is a source of worry give the proximity to this race. There is a strong British challenge with Roger Varian's Dawn Of Hope a contender and Intimation expected to go well tackling this trip for the first time for the in-form Sir Michael Stoute team but this might remain in Ireland with MAKING LIGHT. She showed up well behind Alluringly last time at Gowran, beating a few of these, and with her trainer now flying again, can collect this prize.
- Making Light
- Intimation
- Dawn Of Hope
