Swiss Spirit colt, cost 10,000 gns as a foal and €800 as a yearling. Half-brother to 6f two-year-old winner Waqaas. Well beaten here on debut but defied greenness to win at Thirsk on second start and may do even better with this man in the saddle.

Exceed and Excel colt, cost 80,000 gns as a foal and €200,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to a Group 1 winning two-year-old sprinter and dam a winning sprinter. Yard's juveniles warrants respect and looks an interesting newcomer.
Holy Roman Emperor colt, cost 15,000 gns as a foal and 31,000 gns as a yearling. Looks in need of further than this and yard's debutantes often need their debut run.
Invincible Spirit colt cost 120,000 gns as a yearling. Dam a full-sister to a US Grade 1 middle distance winner and half-sister to Group 1 winner Brando. Beautiful pedigree but yard's runners often need their debut.

Dutch Art colt, cost 110,000 gns as a yearling. Backed on his debut at York which hinted that he may well have shown plenty at home but held back by inexperience. Should do better here and clearly thought to be capable of better.
Exchange Rate colt, cost $47,000 as a foal and 120,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to four winners around this trip and yard's debutantes warrant respect but he's seemingly the second-string on jockey bookings.

Sir Prancealot gelding, cost €50,000 as a foal and £80,000 as a yearling. Related to winners around this trip but perhaps not a good sign he's already been gelded.

Betty F

5/2
Frankel filly, dam a half-sister to Group 1 winner Seal of Approval and Listed winner Gale Force. May want further than this but entered in a Group 2 here later in the year and any market support would be interesting.
Exceed and Excel filly, cost 175,000 gns as a yearling. Well beaten fourth over 7f when making her debut over 7f at Kempton earlier this month. Interesting to see if she can improve on that effort today but possibly vulnerable to anything smart.

Forecasts

Betty F (5/2), It's Not Unusual (7/2), Rockies Spirit (4/1), Mashaheer (9/2), Balletomane (10/1), Moqarrar (12/1), Global Spirit (25/1), Philamundo (25/1), Blooriedotcom (33/1)

Verdict

ROCKLES SPIRIT gets the services of Silvestre De Sousa for the first time here and he can put the colt's experience to good use. Balletomane must be respected on debut for the Hannon yard while anyt support for Betty F should be noted.
  1. Rockies Spirit
  2. Balletomane
  3. Betty F
