Has improved with each start over fences so far and went relatively close over C&D last time out. Goes for some top connections and demands respect in a race that looks at least a little easier.
Ran well in a similar race over C&D when last seen around two weeks ago. This seems to be his level having been outclassed in a Grade 3, and he can't be ruled out.
Made a promising start to his chasing career at Punchestown in May but hasn't been so good the last twice. Up in trip again now and this seems to be an easier assignment for him from a top trainer.
Makes his chasing debut here having run some nice races in maiden hurdles despite not managing to get his head in front. Seems more a chasing type and should be able to show at least some improvement for the switch.
Dual-purpose type who has been in fair form on the Flat recently. Also ran okay on his most recent start over hurdles but the change from the level to fences may not be an easy one for him.
Fell at the first on chase debut last month but has put in two more promising efforts since. Up in trip again and finished ahead of Bilko at Galway last time out.
Point to point winner who never looked truly at home over hurdles but wasn't much better on debut over fences (under rules) last time. That was over C&D and a more accomplished performance is needed.
Making his first start since March 2016; would be involved on his best form over hurdles but would prefer it softer, appears to be the stable's second string and has the absence to overcome.
1/30 on the Flat, over hurdles and over fences and hasn't shown enough while chasing yet to be on the shortlist.
Forecasts
A Sizing Network (9/4), Bilko (11/4), Arkwrisht (3/1), Lean And Keen (11/2), Victory Mill (11/1), Coeur Joyeux (14/1), Coffee (33/1), Loch Luatha (66/1), Meadow Cross (66/1)
Earlier in the month at Galway LEAN AND KEEN finished just ahead of Bilko, and Sean Byrne's gelding is taken to confirm placings here. He fell at the first on chase debut but has learned plenty since and looks the type to go on to better things than races of this nature. His reopposing rival must be respected given his connections and the way he shaped on chase debut in May, while Coeur Joyeux can improve for the switch to fences.
- Lean And Keen
- Bilko
- Coeur Joyeux
