Sixties Icon colt, half-brother to three winners and dam a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Diamond Diva and Listed winner Viviannasdream. Yard in good form and trip looks suitable on debut. Market should be revealing.
Frankel colt, cost 750,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to So Mi Dar and dam a Group 1 winner and a half-sister to three more Group 1 winners. Beautifully bred and while he's a little late making it to the track, he has to be of interest here.
Still a maiden after six starts and has given the impression he is a better horse on the AW than turf on evidence to date.
Nathaniel colt, related to the smart Winning Story and half-brother to Listed winner True Story. Green on debut at Newmarket but plenty of promise in that run and jockey has a good strike-rate here for an apprentice (five wins from 30 rides).
Looks a bit unlucky to still be a maiden and runner-up on each of his last two starts. No match for the winner last time but that rival has come out and franked the form since with a win off a mark of 82 in a decent Class 3 handicap. Should go well.
Last on debut at Brighton and only beat two home in a 16 runner contest at Windsor last time out. Sure to appreciate the step up in trip but looks more one for handicaps.
Sea The Stars colt, cost 90,000 gns as a yearling. Half-brother to a St Leger runner-up and dam daughter of Group 1 winner over this trip. Bred for this test and interesting if there's any money for him as he makes plenty of appeal on pedigree.
Dubawi colt, brother to Group 3 winner Danadana and dam a full-sister to a Listed winner. Well beaten on debut but improved on his reappearance when third at Nottingham last week. May step up on that again but yard form is a concern.
Nathaniel filly out of Longing To Dance who did okay after a tardy start on debut at Salisbury last month when fifth of 12 to Torcello over 1m2f on soft ground. Likely to have gained plenty from that experience and interesting now up in trip.
High Chaparral filly, half sister to Listed winner Ralston Road and middle distance distance winner Carbon Dating. Trainer and jockey's strike rate exceeds 17% when teaming up and market will provide clues to her chance but looks a suitable test.
Bated Breath filly, cost 10,000 gns as a foal and 25,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to five winners including Listed winner Deuce Again and dam a half-sister to Group 1 winning stayer Cadran. Green on debut but likely to do better here.
Sakhee filly, dam a useful stayer. Beaten out of sight on debut when 66/1 and others make more appeal.
Forecasts
Gold Star (2/1), Reverend Jacobs (11/4), Erdogan (7/2), Ancient Longing (7/1), Zeelander (12/1), Footman (16/1), Towie (20/1), Dock Of The Bay (25/1), Farage (25/1), Golden Set (40/1), Seinfeld (66/1), Kirkland Forever (100/1)
ERDOGAN has an eye-catching pedigree and he could be the one to beat in a nice looking maiden. Ancient Longing and Gold Star both have experience to call upon and both ran with promise on debut with minor preference for the latter.
- Erdogan
- Gold Star
- Ancient Longing
