Returns to hurdling after two races on the Flat, the first of which was a solid effort when beaten only 2L. Not so good over jumps recently, though he will probably appreciate this return to a sounder surface. Top weight still a tall order.
In fair form since switching to handicap hurdles and despite not getting off the mark under rules up to now, he has been showing the right signs and has been dropped 2lb by the handicapper which should help over a trip that won't be an issue.
Up slightly in trip beyond the extended 2m for the fist time in his career. Will enjoy this ground and has run well in similar races to this in the past, and has been dropped a useful 2lb by the handicapper.
No win since completing a four-timer in October 2015, which were also his only four wins under rules to date from 21 attempts in total. Has lost his way since and has never looked like a serious threat, major revival needed now.
Made his mark in maiden hurdles, winning one at Tramore last August (2m, good), but hasn't been so good since switching to handicaps, and still seems to be on too high a mark following a 25L defeat at Worcester last time.
Beat Charlie Papa Lima at Southwell two starts ago and is 4lb higher in the handicap now, and she failed to justify favouritism carrying an additional 2lb latest. Ground no issue, and is respected in this more competitive race.
Third over C&D last time was his best effort in some kind which is obviously a source for some enthusiasm, as is the 7lb his very talented conditional claims off his back, but on the whole his recent profile is too weak to recommend here.
Outclassed in three attempts at maiden/juvenile hurdles, and was not better when switching to handicap company for this exciting young trainer last time out. Dropped 3lb but that seems unlikely to be enough, and much more is needed now.
Almost back down to his last winning mark of 90, but has run races since so poor that they can't have been simply down to the extra weight, and his recent return from a short break wasn't much better. Others hold more convincing claims.
One of this two previous wins over hurdles has come at this course, and he has posted the occasional solid effort in 2m handicap hurdles, but this looks to be more competitive and of a higher standard, and so he is left off the shortlist.

A relatively open-looking handicap to finish off the card, and G'DAY AUSSIE shades preference. Brian Ellison's gelding hasn't exactly been setting the world alight with his recent performances but the same can be said for a few of these here, and being only four with further progression possibly over this slightly longer trip, he can get his head back in front here. Meanwhile Sweet Holly beat Chalie Papa Lima at Southwell two starts ago and though worse off at the weights now, the first-named still holds the stronger claims of the two, both of whom are expected to run well.
