Winner over 7f at Naas in May, didn't get home over a mile here last month but is handicapped to the hilt in any case. Career-best needed to land this prize.

Contesting Listed and Group contests in the main this season including when fourth of nine at Leopardstown (yielding to soft) in June. Finished last there subsequently in Group 3 but could be competitive in a handicap off this mark.

Winner of the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup in 2014 but has badly lost his way since and looks far too high in the handicap on the basis of his recent performances. Tough ask.

Turf record of 1/40 not inspiring, heavy defeat on stable debut over 5f at Tipperary (yielding) this month. Step up in trip a positive but might need the assessor to relent again before scoring.

All four career wins have come on testing ground so won't mind any rain, scored over the trip at Gowran Park in June, 8lb higher now but ran well in valuable Galway contest off this mark.

Finished runner-up off this mark over C&D (good to firm) last month. Rated 4lb higher than when winning at Naas (good to yielding) in May but looks capable of having a say with ground to suit.

Generally consistent, though does throw in an odd no-show, beat Have A Nice Day over C&D last month and rated only 2lb higher now. Probably doesn't want any ease in the going.

Winner over the trip at Naas in June (good to firm) and is rated 1lb lower for this, may have found 6f here recently a bit sharp and can give his running back over optimal distance.

Stepped up in trip when successful over 7f at Leopardstown (good to yielding) last time out. Races off a 6lb higher mark here and an interesting runner in this.

Filly won a Leopardstown maiden (1m, good to firm) in June on just her third start with plenty up her sleeve. Makes handicap debut here and is to be taken seriously.

Back-to-back winner of decent handicaps last summer, including this contest, form this year not as good but now slipped to a very appealing mark if putting things together. Interesting runner.

Form this season not as consistent as he can be, has a question or two to answer on recent efforts but would be a player at his best from this rating.

Forecasts

Xenobia (4/1), Canary Row (11/2), Texas Rock (6/1), Have A Nice Day (13/2), Hunaina (8/1), An Saighdiur (10/1), Severus (10/1), Club Wexford (12/1), Sevenleft (14/1), G Force (16/1), Ishebayorgrey (20/1), Master Speaker (28/1)

Verdict

An open heat, there are plenty for whom a case can be built and the market should prove informative. Sevenleft has been running in esteemed company recently and is respected back in a handicap, while Have A Nice Day should run well on ground that is likely to suit. He was beaten here by Severus last month and, assuming the rain stays away, there's every chance of another decent showing from the gelding. Hunaina appeared to appreciate this trip last time when scoring at Leopardstown and isn't dismissed off 6lb higher while any money behind the filly Xenobia on handicap bow ought to be taken seriously. Last year's winner AN SAIGHDIUR is now rated 10lb lower and, despite advancing years, he's a live danger in this field and might be the value call having run well enough last time at Roscommon.
  1. An Saighdiur
  2. Hunaina
  3. Xenobia
