Handled the A/W well on both starts earlier this year, including a win in maiden company at Chelmsford. Has gone close a couple of times on turf since so sets a reasonable standard in this sprint handicap.

Has proven very consistent since going handicapping this term and landed A/W wins at both Southwell and Newcastle on very different surfaces. Likes to race close to the pace and wide draw mght cause him to burn valuable energy early on.

Tried in much tougher company on last two outings and didn't cut much ice, but this looks more his level and has claims on the balance of earlier efforts. Not without hope at a decent price.

Disappointed when favourite last time at Yarmouth having landed a Beverley maiden on her previous start. Latest run looked too bad to be true so far too earlier to be written off.

Beaten just a head by Flying Foxy at Beverley last time and is a pound better off. Consistently placed and may have needed last run after a nine month absence, so there could potentially be a little more improvement to come.

Having first run for current yard having been gelded since leaving David Brown. Showed promise early on last term but form tailed off after. Hopes rest on a change of scene sparking a revival.

Won Brighton sprint maiden under today's (in-form) jockey back in May but generally disappointing in three starts since. More needed, but first-time cheekpieces may help the cause.

Won on debut for current yard at Newcastle in March but below-par since until better effort when second at same track last week. Wears eyeshields for the first time, and has fallen back to a feasible handicap mark, so should be thereabouts.

Forecasts

Suwaan (9/4), Midnightly (10/3), Wild Approach (9/2), Flying Foxy (10/1), Jeany (10/1), Secret Strategy (10/1), Reedanjas (12/1), Bithynia (12/1), Rapid Rise (20/1)

Verdict

There should be little between JEANY and Flying Foxy once again, the pair having been separated by just a head last time. Marginal prefernce is for the former, who may just have a shade more improvement in her. Midnightly is respected and may go close, while Suwaan is now fairly handicapped and shouldn't be too far away. A similar comment applies to Secret Strategy, and Reedanjas shouldn't be ruled out dropping back down in grade.
  1. Jeany

  3. Flying Foxy
