Improving 4-y-o that has run his best races to date on his last couple of starts, almost getting there at Kilbeggan and then running to a similar level at Cork last time out. May not want too much rain but that aside, holds a leading chance again here.

Did a bit better when a one-paced sixth at Galway latest and on a very fair mark if you're willing to go back far enough. Drop in trip here may help and can't be totally ruled out if the rain holds off.

Back to form when making all at Clonmel in May (decent form) but went out like a light on the Flat at Gowran latest. Definite chances if returning to earlier form and can't be allowed too much rope up front.

Back over hurdles after two unseats over fences but on such a good mark here compared to chase mark (some 21lb lower) that he simply has to be considered, despite some moderate looking form figures. Ultimately though, may want further than this, so others preferred.

C&D winner around this time last year from a similar mark, but form this season nowhere near as good and it takes a leap of faith to get with him here, despite having some plus points.

C&D winner last year and in good form on the Flat recently, winning at Leopardstown and Limerick. Still looks on a fair mark returned to hurdles and if the rain keeps away, looks a big player again here.

Lightly raced over hurdles and did come good in a maiden hurdle at Killarney around this time last year, and there was some promise to be taken out of his recent fifth at Galway too. Goes on most ground and another to be considered in a hot little contest.

Winner over fences here last October and although he's not won since, has turned in some respectable efforts and came back to form with a close second at Cork recently. Conditions fine and chances if building on that effort.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-1| J: S J Gray(3)| T: A Slattery| OR:  98| CD
13/2
C&D winner when last seen out over hurdles (second and third have upheld the form since) and has run respectably on the Flat recently. 6lb higher than that win demands more, and this looks a tougher contest. Not discounted but others preferred.

His biggest plus point is the form of the yard, going well at present. Only 4 and open tom improvement, but will need it on what he's shown so far. Others preferred.

Forecasts

St Lawrence Gap (5/2), My Direction (5/1), Killiney Court (6/1), Sharjah (13/2), Zanjabeel (7/1), Beautiful Ben (8/1), Nicaragua (10/1), The Last Marju (12/1), Coolfighter (20/1), Sackfullofdreams (50/1)

Verdict

A few of these will be hoping the weather gods are favourable and not too much rain falls between now and race time. ST LAWRENCE GAP has been in good form on the Flat and still looks on a workable mark now returned to timber. Still not fully exposed and there may well be a bit more to come. He can take first prize ahead of top weight Zanjabeel, another going the right way and this track should suit. Nicaragua may well set the race up for the others but shouldn't be allowed an easy lead or the others may find her away and gone before they can get to her. Beautiful Ben is another to consider in a trappy event.
  1. St Lawrence Gap
  2. Zanjabeel
  3. Beautiful Ben
