Looked fairly sharp early season when scoring on debut at Leicester in April (5f good). Time has since told us that race wasn't the strongest contest, and he needs to bounce back from a lesser showing at Goodwood (6f) in May when only sixth of ten to Masar.
Unraced £38,000 yearling by Royal Applause out of Precious Secret. A fifth foal and a half-brother to 7f to 1m5f winner Takbeer, he is worth a glance in the market with his trainer amongst the winners lately.
Showcasing colt whose dam Daintily Done is closely related to 5f Group 2 winner Bated Breath. He has the first time blinkers applied after a fairly non-descript debut at Goodwood in early June (last of nine over 6f to Snazzy Jazzy).
Unraced Iffraaj colt out of Tulipe Rose. He fetched 87,000 gns earlier this year (€38,000 foal) and is a half-brother to a couple of winners in France (Takaran and Tulipa Rosa). Likely best at a mile, but this represents a reasonable starting option.
Tailed off at massive odds (150/1) on debut at Newbury in July in a 7f novice stakes won by Mildenberger. Will need to have improved immeasurably to play any sort of role in this contest.
By Lord Kanaloa out of a Listed placed winning mare in Japan, this twice raced colt is a half-brother to six winners. He displayed clear signs of greeness on debut at Newmarket in early May (5f), but didn't really progress on his next outing at Leicester later that month (6f) and hasn't been seen since.
First foal by Shamardal out of Snow Power (related to French 1,000 Guineas winner Elusive Wave). Tried hard, but not able to get involved with the leaders on debut at Ascot late last month (6f good to soft), and should be far stronger for that experience in a lower grade contest. His Ascot conqueror Mythical Magic has subsequently went onto Listed success in France.
125,000 gns yearling by Requinto out of Positive Steps, this third foal is a full sister to the Group placed 6f juvenile winner Broken Stones. She displayed speed for a long way prior to weakening to finish fifth of 16 to Musical Art on debut at Newbury (6f good to firm) last month and should prove stronger now.
Exceed And Excel filly, who cost €46,000 as a yearling. Dam a half-sister to Listed placed Algaith. Smart effort on debut at Windsor, and looked a little green in the early stages, but form of that race not really working out and she may need to improve further (possible).
Foxwedge filly, who is a half-sister to two-year-old 6f winners Dancing Star and Dance Of Fire. Far too green to do herself justice on debut at Goodwood (6f soft) a fortnight ago and an improved effort is required.

STRATEGIST showed clear signs of promise on debut in a strong 6f maiden at Ascot in late July when fourth of seven to subsequent French Listed winner Mythical Magic. Whilst the remainder of those in that contest have yet to revisit the racecourse, that effort looks plenty strong enough for him to play a leading role in this much lesser event with improvement for the experience pretty much a given.
