Bounced back to form with a good win at Cartmel in May, and could be called the winner some way out there, so 5lb rise far was from excessive, second of seven at Aintree in June, when beaten by Mad Jack Mytton. Fell at the first last day, that can be forgotten.
Returned from a 12-month lay-off at Royal Ascot in the 2m stakes race, but was tailed off last of 18. Formerly with Charlie Appleby, he returns to hurdling after 606 days.
Poor run off a mark of 121 at Uttoxeter on good ground, before weakening when hampered at the last in Market Rasen handicap hurdle in June, when fourth of five over an extended 2m2f.
Usually seen at Chepstow or Ffos Las, where the gelding was a winner in July on the Flat. Third of six on last hurdle start, though only beaten just over 2L, when rallying late on.
Looked useful when with Matt Sheppard but has looked regressive in recent months, and mark now some 15lb lower than when starting out life in handicaps. Only got as far as the first last day in Chepstow handicap.
Has a host of entries ahead of him and it will be interesting to see if trainer takes up this engagement, but needs to put a series of disappointing runs behind him over the winter.
Formerly with Elizabeth Doyle who has won at Stratford and Newton Abbot for these connections and found a well-handicapped rival too good in between. Disappointed last day at Worcester when dropped to 2m.
Forecasts
Coeur Tantre (10/11), Curious Carlos (9/2), Cillian's Well (8/1), Regulation (8/1), Nabhan (12/1), Galizzi (14/1), Beallandendall (20/1)
Beallandendall should be the to take the field along here, with Galizzi and the selection, CILLIAN'S WELL, in behind. The seven-year-old, will be better back over this longer trip andhas been holding his form well. Curious Carlos, second of seven at Aintree in June, when beaten by Mad Jack Mytton and Coeur Tantre, should be on the shortlist.
