Four-time winner last year and generally going well in defeat this term, bit of a worry that she flopped last time at Roscommon meeting soft ground but certainly not out of things with first-time visor on and trainer going well.
Defied almost 500 days off to score over 1m2f at Roscommon in June in soft ground, not quite as good back there this month but still competitive and entitled to run well again.
Filly won both her 2yo starts but has been a shade disappointing in two starts this season. Bit to prove for now.
Maiden winner at Roscommon last month, since well held on handicap bow at Killarney (1m3f, yielding to soft) and comes here with something to prove and yard enduring a slump.
Winner of an apprentice contest over 1m4f at Cork in May but unable to strike any sort of blow in two runs since off this mark. Has to bounce back.
Promising effort in opening maidens at Fairyhouse and the Curragh but tame effort when sent off favourite at Galway recently. Switches to handicaps now with a cloud over her.
Ran two credible races at the Galway Festival recently, runs off the same mark here and must enter calculations on the strength of those efforts.
Showed promise in Britain for Luca Cumani in maidens and again showed some spark on first start for this yard at Galway. Perhaps a bit keen there and that may have told in the end, interesting contender switched to handicaps with Smullen on top.
An 11-race maiden, she was going with some purpose when last spotted on the AW at Dundalk early this year, interesting to see how market judges on return to action and has run well on turf before.
Long-standing maiden that will have to improve significantly to have a say on these terms. Easier to look elsewhere.
Forecasts
Rickrack (7/2), Jeremy's Girl (4/1), Sister Blandina (5/1), Lady Nathaniel (6/1), Panstarr (7/1), Prove The Point (7/1), Teagan Angel (14/1), Mademoiselle Penny (16/1), Trevanna (25/1), Tamara Love (50/1)
RICKRACK might prove the answer here. She showed enough in her three British starts to suggest she's up to winning a contest like this and might have got off to a winning start for this trainer at Galway had she not raced keenly. With Smullen taking over, there's a decent chance she'll settle better and prove best. Sister Blandina knows how to win but the likely soft ground is a concern, while Lady Nathaniel comes here with something to prove after a tame Galway effort last time. Similarly, Trevanna has a reputation to rebuild but isn't written off yet while Teagan Angel is worth a market check on return to action.
- Rickrack
- Sister Blandina
- Teagan Angel
