Arakan colt, dam won over this trip and also had plenty stamina on her side a winning hurdler. Market check warranted on debut.
Thewayyouare colt, cost €3,000 as a foal. Dam was a sister to Listed placed Ladie's Choice. Last of eight on debut over 1m (good) at Leopardstown last month.
Camelot colt cost €200,000 as a yearling and comes to the track representing powerful connections for this debut run. Liable to be popular in the betting and won't be a surprise if he runs a big race.
Second Ballydoyle runner in the line-up, has gone well in maidens over shorter trips than this and just denied on handicap bow over this trip at Galway last time out. One of the more likely winners.
Runner-up in the two most recent of three starts, should have fairly solid claims again here and give his running.
Fast Company colt cost €14,000 as a yearling, things have slowed somewhat for talented young trainer lately but still worth noting place in the market on debut.
Sent off 66/1 in both starts so far in maidens at Leopardstown and Listowel, has fair bit of improvement to unlock before getting competitive in a field like this.
Has shown some promise in two starts over this trip in maidens so far, beaten favourite last time at Leopardstown and probably has to improve to win.
High Chaparral filly cost €40,000 as a yearling, arrives here for debut representing champion jumps trainer. Worth noting in the betting.
Vocalised filly, has stamina for plenty further but this trip should be no problem on debut, yard enduring a lean spell recently.
Sent off 50/1 and no threat over 6f at the Curragh on second start recently. Upped in trip and with plenty of improvement to find here.
Rip Van Winkle filly makes racecourse bow in this, pedigree suggests a longer trip might be called for in time.
Vocalised filly, dam a half-sister to Group 1 winner Loch Garman. Well held on both starts to date and possibly best watched for now.
Forecasts
Mount Wellington (11/8), Quizical (5/2), Sirjack Thomas (8/1), Shareva (10/1), Lucius Tiberius (12/1), Bronagh's Belle (16/1), Haunting Vocals (16/1), Rockfish (20/1), Just Sherry (25/1), Vocatio (66/1), Shandon (66/1), Dani's Boy (80/1), It's Paddys Day (100/1)
The betting will be an essential guide with plenty of the newcomers seemingly having a chance to get involved. The likes of Shareva, Haunting Vocals, Bronagh's Belle and Lucius Tiberius are all worth noting in the market. Quizical has been second on two recent runs and, while likely to go well here, might be forced to play second fiddle again with MOUNT WELLINGTON having runner a stormer to be second in a handicap at the Galway Festival recently. That form puts him straight in the mix for this contest and he may be able to oblige.
- Mount Wellington
- Quizical
- Lucius Tiberius
