Quite surprisingly given his pedigree he's proved well suited by 5f and got off the mark on his third attempt last time out. Positive tactics on that occasion at Pontefract looking to suit him and he may be able to employ such a strategy again although the wide draw makes that a little more difficult.
Cost €14,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to a couple of winners. The yard are in good form at the moment although they are yet to saddle a two-year-old winner this season so market support for this one would be a positive.
From a yard that are more than capable of producing one first time up this half-brother to 5f winner Intruder is bred to be speedy. His dam was also a juvenile winner over 6f and he's to be looked on positively here despite it being his debut.
Took a while to get the hang of things on his debut at Thirsk over 5f but the penny did appear to be dropping gradually. Wasn't at all knocked about and he's open to improvement here.
The stable are running hot at the moment and this one has plenty of winners in his pedigree being a half-brother to seven who have been victorious. Trainer has had a couple of first-time out juvenile winners so this one is of interest if the market speaks well of him.
Needs to get back on track after what looked to be a disappointing effort last time (found to be lame after though) and he's better judged on his debut effort which was also at Carlisle. Makes his debut for this yard having previously been with Bryan Smart and this will be their first juvenile runner of the season (0/20 with two-year-olds in the past five years).
Will have to find some improvement on her debut run at Thirsk over 5f to take a hand here but that wouldn't be unusual for one from this yard. Looked green on her debut but did the best of the newcomers and should be put on the shortlist here.
Looks a speedy sort and certainly showed that on both starts but did look as though she didn't progress from her debut over C&D last time. Not one to write off too quickly though and she should come into the equation here.
One of a quartet of debutantes in the field she is a half-sister to a 6f winner. The stable remain in decent form but they aren't known for their juvenile winners.
Forecasts
Wensley (5/2), Kyllachy Dragon (3/1), Weeton (5/1), Ghost (6/1), Equitant (8/1), Me Before You (8/1), Sir Derrick (20/1), Carpet Time (25/1), Pavarella Shoes (40/1)
The first division looks a little stronger than this heat and connections of Wensley will fancy their chances of following up but the draw does make life interesting. Weeton could well bounce back after his disappointing run last time (did have an excuse) but the stables lack of juvenile success is slightly off putting. Ghost is of interest with improvement likely from her debut (not unknown for this yard) but a chance is taken with the Fahey newcomer who looks a speedy sort on pedigree EQUITANT.
- Equitant
- Wensley
- Ghost
