A former C&D winner in a 0-110 handicap when rated 105 on his debut in that sphere he scored off a higher mark on the AW after that again over 5f. Given a series of tough test of late even running in a Group 1 at Royal Ascot (predictably outclassed) and will find a return to these comparatively calmer waters an easier task although his penalty gives him work to do at the weights.
A good class handicapper (has won off a mark of 94) who deserves a chance in this grade having run some fair races this year already. Looked a little free at Ascot last time and is better judged on his third at Goodwood on his penultimate start although he still has a tough task at the weights.
Now in the veteran stage of his career he's not the force that he once was and has only showed his form in glimpses this year. Faces a tough task at these weights and a place is certainly the best that he could hope for here.
With a yard that excel with their sprinters he's been capable of some top-class form in the past and really sprang back to life last time at Newmarket over 5f similar contest putting two of today's rivals away comfortably. This was only his second win though and a few ran below-par so it's not form to go overboard about although it could well be the start of a renaissance.
The only three-year-old in the field the weight-for-age scale tips the weights in his favour having already won a similar event over C&D earlier in the season against his own age group. He's failed to win again but has been running some sound races at Listed/Group level with the only blip coming on quick ground and a return to a softer surface will see him in a better light.
A lightly-raced filly who doesn't have many miles on the clock for her age but has only won once in a 6f Kempton Park maiden on the AW. She has been placed in Listed events though over 6f and given a try in the same company last time but over 5f it all happened too quickly for her and the same could well happen here.

Forecasts
Ornate (5/2), Kyllang Rock (3/1), Bounce (3/1), Goldream (7/2), Gracious John (11/2), Green Door (8/1), Monsieur Joe (33/1)
The highlight of the evening it should provide a good spectacle although at the weight Ornate and KYLLANG ROCK stand head-and-shoulders above this field with the weight-for-age allowance just tipping the scales in favour of the three-year-old. Goldream is more than capable and gives the Cowell yard who do so well with sprinters a good back-up to Ornate although the ground looks a little soft for him. The ground may allow Green Door and Gracious John to get involved although the weights do make it tough for that pair to be given a winning chance.
- Kyllang Rock
- Ornate
- Green Door
