Seven race maiden who never really showed much for her previous trainer William Knight. Picked up cheaply in July (£3,200) and was beaten when slipping up at Chester on stable debut last month.

Made favourite on her handicap debut here last month (1m2f good to soft) but lacked the speed to get involved. She's clearly an ordinary filly, but this step up in trip and softer ground could aid her chances.

2/1
Seven race maiden whose clear standout performances have come at this track with cut. She was beaten a head by Defoe in a course maiden over 1m in September, and got to within 2½L (third) of Frantical over 1m2f here last month. She needs to prove that she stays this longer trip but reasonable claims nevertheless.

Appeared to benefit for the step up in trip when third of six to Ingleby Mackenzie at Doncaster in late July (1m4f good). Lightly raced in handicap company and could be about to break his duck in an eminently winnable contest.

Seven race maiden who appears exposed and very one paced. No real improvement since switched to handicap company despite dropping steadily in the weights (down 9lb collectively).

Nothing offered in three quick runs in Irish maidens over much shorter trips during the spring. As we've seen previously on these shores, this trainer knows the time of day, so this colt should be monitored in the market now upped in trip for handicap debut in such a moderate contest.

Forecasts

Bianca Minola (2/1), Katabatika (5/2), Trautmann (4/1), Stander (5/1), Russian Regard (8/1), Penny Red (22/1)

Verdict

Another very moderate and winnable contest which could go the way of the David Loughnane trained, Luke Morris ridden gelding TRAUTMANN. He is lightly raced in handicap company and appeared suited by the step up in trip when third to Ingleby Mackenzie at Doncaster last month. Whilst Ffos Las regular Bianca Minola is probably the chief danger, she could prove slightly vulnerable late on over this longer trip.
  1. Trautmann
  2. Bianca Minola
  3. Katabatika
