Ended last season with a win in an AW apprentice handicap when with Mick Halford over 7f off this mark. Has shown some reasonable form for this yard and may well have needed the run after a break at Ascot last time out in a valuable ladies race over 7f. Down to a decent mark although this trip has looked to stretch him in the past and stamina doubts remain.

Fairly useful handicapper but he is hard to win with and has string of placed efforts to his name this year and a losing run that is getting longer and longer. He has slipped back well below his last winning mark though but is the type that needs everything to drop right and despite the good form of the yard should be treated with caution for win purposes here.

Delivered a much needed win on his penultimate start over C&D off an 8lb lower mark in July and it may well have been the drop to 0-65b grade that provided the impetus for that win. Back up in grade (0-80) he ran just as well next time and that gives him a chance here although he is one who needs everything to drop right.

An ex-Sir Michael Stoute inmate he only ran four races for that yard without winning although he did show up relatively well for them in his only handicap for the yard. Has one decent run (from three) for this yard at Wetherby when suited by the run of the race but stepping back to a mile doesn't look ideal given what looks to be a lack of pace.

Has been in fine and consistent form in his four handicap runs so far with a deserved win being gained on his penultimate start over a mile at Thirsk off a 5lb lower mark. Looked to progress again when taking the runner-up slot in a stronger heat last time out at York showing a good attitude and looks to have a leading chance here slightly eased in grade.

Looked to be on the way back to some sort of form last time out in slightly lesser company over C&D and now back below his last winning mark may well be of interest again. Probably needs a strongly run race to be seen at his best but if he gets that could prove dangerous off this mark.

Out-and-out front runner who is a C&D winner back when he was in a purple patch of four consecutive wins back in 2015 the last of those wins coming off a 3lb higher mark than today. Not won since those days and is still operating below his best and looks a little out of sorts still.

Getting his mark down under 60 was probably the catalyst for a couple of improved displays that culminated in a very recent win over C&D off a mark of 59. He now has to carry a 6lb penalty in a tougher race off a very short break but his competitive attitude should allow him to play a part again here around a course he clearly acts well on.

Looks as though he'll be better in handicaps than he was in maidens and has shown promise in different ways in that sphere. His mark looks reasonable enough although this is fairly competitive for the grade and there will be better openings for him.

Forecasts

Breanski (11/4), Remember Rocky (4/1), Crazy Tornado (9/2), Abushamah (5/1), Jay Kay (7/1), Chinese Spirit (10/1), Dark Crystal (10/1), Gun Case (14/1), So It's War (14/1), Dark Alliance (20/1), Scottish Summit (25/1)

Verdict

This will be the first time that BREANSKI has met with his elders but he looks to have a cracking attitude and the slight ease in grade may well allow him to get back on the winning trail. Plenty of the opposition have question marks against them although Gun Case looks to be getting his act together and could be a danger off this sort of mark. Remember Rocky has to prove that he can cope with a mark over 60 carrying a penalty for his recent win here while a couple like Crazy Tornado and Abushamah have the ability to win a race of this nature but do need everything to drop right for them while Chinese Spirit may well be worth a second look in the market.
