Sole British win was in a Wolverhampton claimer in June (1m4f, AW) but he has run a couple of very good races since joining this yard. Both those were at York and, while he was well beaten there last time, this is more his class of contest and he again has claims.

Has won here both over C&D and over 1m6f, while she is at her best on a sound or easy surface, so gets her conditions here. 4lb lower than his latest win, which was last September and now returned to this grade you could see her having a big impact.

Scored at Thirsk first time out this season (1m4f, good to firm) and after being comfortably/well held on all starts since, he goes into this just 1lb higher than that success. Unlikely to get his preferred fast ground here, however.

Enjoying a good campaign and won last time out at Carlisle (1m3f, good to soft). Stays this far and acts on any ground with good in the description. 2lb higher than his best winning mark but looks booked for another very competitive effort.

Acts on most ground, though the greater percentage of his wins have been at Beverley and on good or fast ground. Comes here in good form and with the stable's runners also going well, though he needs to find a little more to add another win from this mark.

All three of his wins have been at around this trip on good/softer ground and ran well enough at Leicester (1m4f, soft) last time when making the frame. 1lb drop will help and should be thereabouts.

Grade Two winning hurdler who won on his Flat debut at Kempton (1m4f, AW) in May and ran to a similar level of form on his handicap debut back at that venue when a 7L runner-up. Conditions will suit him and he is another who could make an impact on this contest.

Comes here seeking a hat-trick in these types of contests, having won at both York and Epsom over this trip (on good to firm and good ground) in his last two starts. Up just 1lb for his short-head success last time and again has claims.

Goes on any ground, though his last two wins have been on soft. Stays 1m6f, though latest success was over 1m3f at Carlisle in June. Not quite as good in two subsequent starts and cheekpieces now fitted, together with a drop to 1lb higher than his latest win. Not ruled out.

Has won all four of his races here over 1m2f, two each on good to soft and good to firm. The lastest of those, in April, was from 5lb lower and the handicapper has had him since. Step up in trip not certain to suit and has a bit to prove.

Yet to win beyond 1m2f and didn't appear to stay on his only try over this sort of trip. Plenty to prove on that front, but does go on the ground and is well handicapped on his best form.

Got off the mark at Newcastle (1m, AW) in January and went close next time from a mark of 82 on his handicap debut. Was tried over a similar trip last time and beaten over 12L (soft) at Ascot. Others preferred today.

Forecasts

Zubayr (11/4), William Hunter (9/2), Tapis Libre (7/1), Dance King (8/1), Swaheen (11/1), Jacbequick (11/1), Azari (12/1), Shamrokh (16/1), Gabrial's King (20/1), Caponova (25/1), Lord Franklin (25/1), Intense Tango (25/1)

Verdict

A real conundrum for punters to kick-off the card and INTENSE TANGO is the suggestion. Karl Burke's mare has her conditions and is now back to the sort of mark from which she should be a major player, especially in this grade. Tapis Libre is becoming a standing dish in this sort of contest and can again go close, and Zubayr has a touch of class. He can build on his first two Flat runs and take a hand again. Azari represents a yard that does so well here and is interesting, while others in the mix should be Dance King, Jacbequick and William Hunter.
  1. Intense Tango
  2. Zubayr
  3. Tapis Libre
