£17,000 yearling. Dam a 6f 2yo winning full-sister to 7f-1m2f winner Crafty Choice, out of 6f-7½f winning half-sister to 1m Group Two winner Hurricane Alan and dual Cesarewitch winner Aaim To Prosper. Only beat one home on debut over the stiff 6f at Hamilton but shaped as though he would find this easy 5f more to his liking.

Only poor run has come on soft ground. Form of his latest effort leaves him with something to find and he will require a couple of these to misfire.

Last of five on debut but , like many from the yard, stepped up considerably next time. Has 2L to find with Rumshak whilst being 4lb worse off and that sets him a difficult task.

Gelded son of Orientor out of a mare who was plating class. Well beaten on both starts and hard to envisage he will be in the shake up.

All five previous winners of this race had already registered a victory. As the only candidate meeting that criteria, and boasting the pick of the form, this front-runner will take all the beating.

Demoted to third on debut behind the useful John Kirkup and that form has worked out well. Mid-division in the Super Sprint and probably not far off the standard required to win this.

Forecasts

Rumshak (4/5), Falabelle (9/2), Mr Greenlight (5/1), Global Academy (8/1), Black Friday (18/1), Oriental Power (100/1)

Verdict

RUMSHAK ticks all the boxes normally required to win this. The Dods' speedster was an impressive winner on his penultimate start and was just edged out at Beverley last time by Savalas. That looks the pick of the form and he has most to fear from Falabelle. The filly hails from the same stable as Savalas so the yard should know how they stand with the selection. A promising debut was followed by a mid-division finish in the Super Sprint and there are races to be won with her for sure. In receipt of 5lb from RUMSHAK it will be interesting to see if there is support for her.
  1. Rumshak
  2. Falabelle
  3. Mr Greenlight
