C&D winner last year and returns off a 6lb lower mark this time around. Signs of a return to form last time out at the Curragh but yard have gone a little quiet in recent weeks. Each-way claims regardless.
Beaten out of sight when fancied at the Curragh last time out but probably went off a little too hard and still looks very well-handicapped on some of his NH hunt form. Worth giving another chance to and yard won this last year.
Has been a little disappointing over hurdles this year but ran well on his sole Flat start when runner-up here in a six-runner contest. Possibly not as well handicapped as others but not entirely exposed and gets the services of a top jockey.
Beaten favourite but not disgraced at Bellewestown latest. More required in this company and may want some rain to be seen at his best.
Won a maiden here over C&D last year but not quite as good on second Flat start. Quite possible he's well-handicapped judged on his NH form though and fit from that sphere. Not dismissed.
Maiden winner at Ballinrobe last year and running well over hurdles recently. Seemingly not a whole lot of scope from this sort of mark returned to this sphere but in good form at least and can give a good account.
Off the mark over hurdles last time, winning with a bit in hand, and showed he stays at leats 1m6f on the Flat with a win at Killarney last year (lost race afterwards, as rider drew wrong weight). Others may be better handicapped though and would probably like to see some rain.
Not the most consistent sort but got back in the winner's enclosure here last time when winning over 1m3f. Probably needs a career best to land this deeper contest though.
Running well for this yard over hurdles of late and has won twice on the Flat, though not for a couple of years. May be able to do better for this yard and potentially well-handicapped judged on the way he has run over hurdles in recent starts.
Not won on the Flat since 2014 and while he's been running okay over jumps lately, he would probably like softer ground than what he's likely to get here.
Forecasts
Alton Bay (5/2), Whiteout (9/2), Petuna (5/1), Abraham (8/1), Tarazani (8/1), Mandatario (11/1), Cassells Rock (12/1), Venezia (14/1), Jan Van Eyck (14/1), Grand Partner (16/1)
WHITEOUT is better than what she showed last time out and still looks potentially well-handicapped. Top weight Mandatario can't be dismissed after signs of a return to form last time at the Curragh while Venezia could be on a lenient mark.
- Whiteout
- Mandatario
- Venezia
