A winner over C&D on his debut when a 50/1 chance he overcame inexperience to win in good fashion looking as though there is better to come. Probably had a stiff task on his second run giving away a penalty to a useful rival but faces the same tough scenario here.

Price made rapid strides from a yearling to a two-year-old (€140,000) and is a half brother to a 1m1f winner with the dam a winner at up to a mile. Yard are going well with their juveniles and have some useful types in their ranks and it's hard to rule out this being another one.

He produced a very smart first effort with a third in a Beverley conditions stakes on his debut to Cardsharp who has gone 312 on Group races since. Held-up early on he made good progress to finish well and looks open to further progress.

Well backed on his debut over C&D he produced a good a promising first effort with the promise of better to come in the future. The winner has won again since so the form has some credence and he adds some depth to a good race.

Cost 60,000 as a yearling he's a half-brother to a juvenile winner over 5f in Monte Cinq. His dam is a lightly-raced half-sister to smart 5f winner Kyllang Rock out of 7f winner Megec Blis. Stable are 2/10 with two-year-olds this season but he might just need this run.

Wasn't far behind Diamond Set on his debut and is another who looks open to improvement and that in itself is an interesting rematch. He was only 7/2 on his debut and the yard are going well with their juveniles and still holds some tasty Group race entries indicating that he's well thought of.

The only filly in the field she looks a little outclassed here having had a couple of runs but none of them measure up to the rest of the field and she'll be better off in nurseries when she has a mark.

Forecasts

Cool Spirit (2/1), Staxton (9/4), Diamond Set (10/3), Humble Gratitude (7/1), Bakht Khan (8/1), Harrogate (16/1), She's Different (66/1)

Verdict

This looks a competitive and fairly deep juvenile event and despite Staxton winning over C&D on his debut the weight he has to give away here gives him a tough task. Diamond Set and Humble Gratitude resume their battle from last time out and that duo both look sure to provide a tough test for COOL SPIRIT who showed very good form on his debut behind a subsequent Group winner. Both Harrogate and Bakht Khan could be useful newcomers and make this a very interesting contest which should produce some future winners.
  1. Cool Spirit
  2. Diamond Set
  3. Staxton
