Ran really well on good to soft on her second start at Doncaster (7f) when a 2L third. Not at that level at Newmarket last time, but looks a likely type for this sort of contest now that she tackles her first nursery and the step up to 1m looks positive. Short-list material.

Has made improvement with each start so far and was beaten just over 2L when runner-up in an Ayr novices' contest (7f, good) last time. The step up in trip looks likely to help with further improvement for his nursery debut from a fair enough mark. Claims.

Improved on his debut when making the frame at Chepstow (6f, good) last month, though couldn't maintain that level of form on soft ground at Sandown last time. That has to be a concern given the forecast conditions here, but if he can better that Chepstow effort then he won't be far away.

Has gone backwards since his debut at Sandown (7f, good) in June and you wouldn't say that the handicapper has been particularly lenient for this first foray into nursery company. Watching brief suggested unless the market suggests that a revival is anticipated.

Has failed to show any improvement in three starts so far, but it is still early days and he may be able to do better now in nurseries. Steps up a little in trip, which could help, but this looks a stiff enough mark on what we have seen thus far.

Improved on his debut to be beaten just over 4L at Newcastle (7f, AW) in June, though was beaten 16L at Newmarket last time. Initial mark looks fair based on that second run, though he has a bit of work to do to return to that level.

Tony Soprano63

Has yet to improve on his debut effort from Newbury (5f, good to firm) in two subsequent runs over 6f. Gelded since his latest run in early June and now steps into nurseries and on to good to soft ground for the first time. Probably one to watch this time.

Mountain Meadow26
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-7| J: Barry McHugh| T: R A Fahey| OR:  55

Has run to a similar level of form in all three starts to date, never really getting competitive and being well beaten over 6½f-7f. Handicapper has not gone mad on this first nursery run, which sees her stepped up in trip, though it still takes a leap of faith to be supporting her on racecourse evidence.

Mr Carbonator13

Looked to have improved for being gelded after his first two runs when producing his best effort yet in a Catterick seller (7f, soft) last time. Has since joined Phil Kirby from Richard Fahey, though will need to continue to build on that latest run to take a hand again from this mark.

40/1
The best of her three starts so far was last time at Doncaster (7f, good to soft), though she was still beaten 9L there at 50-1. Handicapper has not handed her the easiest of initial tasks in nursery company and others are preferred today.

Sixties Secret17
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-3| J: S A Gray| T: M R Channon| OR:  51
14/1
Has regressed in her three runs so far, though showed that she doesn't mind softer ground in a Ripon seller last time. Steps up in trip for this nursery introduction and looks to have a tough enough task at these weights.

Forecasts

Grimeford Lane (7/2), Tony Soprano (5/1), Hemingford (6/1), Bezos (6/1), Far Dawn (7/1), Font Vert (8/1), Gemologist (12/1), Mountain Meadow (12/1), Mr Carbonator (14/1), Sixties Secret (14/1), Harbour Rose (40/1)

Verdict

As ever there may be one or two of these who have been hiding their lights under a bushel, but on the face of it it does not look to be a strong nursery and it could be a good opportunity for GEMOLOGIST to break her duck. Mark Johnston's filly's second run would give her claims if she can return to that level or better it now stepped up in trip. Grimeford Lane looks to be a serious danger given what he produced last time, while Bezos is respected and Font Vert is probably better than we have seen so far.
