Moves back up in trip here but the losing run is starting to look rather a long one now although he has run some decent races this year. His mark still looks a little high though and a place may be the best he can hope for.
Dual AW winner earlier in the year and has run with credit since on turf without winning. A consistent sort but does look held off this mark.
A winner on the Fibresand earlier in the year in claiming company his best form has come on that surface. His one run on turf this has been very disappointing and his other recent AW start have resulted in some very tame efforts.
From a yard that are in good form this veteran has already won three races this year with the latest coming dropped into a claimer but still looks capable off this mark in handicaps. Usually at his best at Redcar (seven wins there) but should be able to take a hand here.
Not seen on the Flat since finishing second at this meeting last year and raced exclusively over hurdles since winning once. 2lb lower than he was last year and given his hurdles form has a chance here although he can finish weakly.
Sprang back to life last time out at Newcastle on the AW over further and was possibly unlucky but he can look an awkward sort and not totally certain to follow-up that run off a 1lb higher mark.
Lightly-raced sort in the past couple of years and has been well held on his last two starts making no improvement from his reappearance run last time at Ripon.
Won a Leicester seller over 1m2f in May but he is consistent in handicaps off marks such as this and may well be able to take a hand here based on those creditable runs.
Out-and-out front runner who is a course winner but hasn't won for over a year now and could probably do with a little more help from the handicapper and isn't firing on all cylinders at the moment.
Given a 4lb rise for his Redcar win over the same trip last time out he should remain competitive at this level without having an obvious winning chance off the higher mark.
Winner of this race last year when a 33/1 shot and running from 7lb out of the weights he's similarly well out of the handicap this year. That race panned out perfectly for him (strongly-run race) but he's not shown anything like the same sort of form since.

Forecasts
Sir Jack (2/1), Hanseatic (7/2), Kingthistle (15/2), Mr Sundowner (8/1), Kiwi Bay (8/1), Weapon Of Choice (11/1), Sikandar (12/1), Argaki (12/1), Parole (16/1), Framley Garth (20/1), Royal Holiday (25/1), Swiss Lait (25/1), Muqarred (33/1)
A 4lb higher mark may just rule out Mr Sundowner here although he remains indecent form along with the veteran Kiwi Bay who should run his race for the in-form Dods stable. Weapon Of Choice like Hanseatic is a strong traveller who can find finishing off his races a problem and although Sikandar ran well last time he’s not certain to repeat that run. SIR JACK has only won a seller this year but he has run with credit in previous handicaps and is a value based suggestion here in a race that is competitive for the grade.
- Sir Jack
- Kiwi Bay
- Mr Sundowner
