A C&D win in May off a mark of 75 ended a long losing run and he actually showed a better attitude than in many of his starts. He's not really backed up that run since although if you are being generous there are minor excuses for him.

Appears to like this course having been a C&D winner here twice and he's looked of late as though he's coming back to form especially on his penultimate run at Ayr. Not quite in the same form last time out (possibly too forcefully ridden) and may have found the race coming too soon and worth another chance here off this mark.

Gradually working his way back to form and is now down to a good mark and ran his best race of the season last time out at Doncaster. He met one who was well-in at the weights there and has slipped back below his last winning mark.

Only win so far came in a Ripon 6f maiden with the cheekpieces on for the first time. Looked below par last time out after a three month break and may well need another run to put himself right.

The losing run is starting to mount and his yard isn't in the best form but the handicapper has given him a real chance of late off a much reduced mark. His two latest runs have shown that some if not all his ability is still there and this is less competitive than the York contest he ran in last time.

Opened her account for the season last time out with her yard in good form travelling well to win over 5f at Pontefract off a 5lb lower mark. Despite a good winning record she's not the most consistent and can be a little hard to predict.

His last win came in a claimer on the AW over 6f in March and he looked still to be in reasonable form last time out at Thirsk over 6f on good-to-soft ground. He won his last handicap off this mark and he may well be able to outrun his odds here.

Took an age to finally win a race and did so on the AW before opening his turf account even more belatedly in June at Ripon over 6f under today's rider. That partnership has continued in his last two runs and his last run at York showed he was still in good form (travelled well) despite being given plenty to do.

Gradually working his way into form this year over a variety of distances although sprinting trips look a little too short for him and judged on his run last time out he'll be better returned to 7f plus.

Not seen out for quite some while and always looks a hard horse to win and his last win came way back at the start of 2015. Looks up against it in this grade from well out of the handicap and others are much preferred.

Verdict

Like many of the races on this card this is a competitive and difficult punting puzzle with B Fifty Two a really well handicapped contender although his stable are a little in the doldrums at the moment and that tempers enthusiasm a little at the current prices. Buccaneers Vault looks to be one who is getting ready to win with Ticks The Boxes capable of running with credit. Mininggold is a last time out winner who could go well here although she can be a little up-and-down with her form while Cliff is always thereabouts but can look a little hard to win with. KENNY THE CAPTAIN is off a very attractive mark now and he may have found his last run coming a little too quickly and with his stable in form he’s the one to beat here.

  3. B Fifty Two
