Comes back down in trip with his last two wins having come over 6f when held-up off the pace so his run from the front last time out here can be ignored. Slipped back down to below his last winning mark although he does have to show he is suited by 5f (never won over the trip).
Not in much form at all this season with his last win coming in 2015. Probably raced too close to a strong pace last time but costly to keep making excuses for him even in this grade.
Sprang back to life on his penultimate start at Ayr under today's pilot off a 3lb lower mark showing his best form for a while. Found out over the same C&D last time out off this same mark but still looks one of the more capable types here.
A winner on her last start without the blinkers at Chepstow over 5f under today's rider racing away from the main action and worth a little bit of credit for winning in that scenario. Travelled well and should be able to cope with a 3lb higher mark having won off 60 at the end of last season.
Looks badly out of sorts at the moment and nowhere near the sort of form that saw him win twice at Hamilton last September over 6f on soft/heavy ground and best watched here.
Keeps knocking at the door but remains a maiden after 15 attempts and blew an excellent chance to break his maiden when disqualified from first place at Musselburgh over 5f last time. His failure to put it all in at a finish seeing him hang right causing interference and his overall record leaves him one to be wary of.
His form is only modest but he has slipped back below his last winning mark (54) although his inconsistency makes it hard to see when or if he can take advantage of that fact.
Showed up well on his seasonal reappearance at Ayr over 5f albeit off a lowly mark doing better than he had managed for a while. Only worn down in the closing stages on that occasion and may well be able to play a part here if he's in the same form.
The hood goes on for the first time on this unreliable sort who has failed to really fire this year with his recent form not really suggesting that his third career win was going to happen soon.
The winner of this race last year it looks as though connections are taking the same path to this race again as he ran in the same Redcar race as he warmed up in last time out. Looked to run a fair race again last time out which could prime him for a repeat in this off a 4lb lower mark with the same rider on board as last year and although he's not the most consistent the same scenario as last year makes him of interest off a 4lb lower mark.
Looked as though he might be putting something together when running well in two consecutive races at Hamilton over 5f. His last two runs haven't backed that up though and he remains one to take little interest in here.
You have to go back to November 2015 for his last win and his recent runs haven't really given much cause for hope that he is going to break that long losing run even in this lowly grade.

Perfect Words (9/2), Our Place In Loule (5/1), A J Cook (11/2), Toni's A Star (6/1), Knockamany Bends (13/2), Red Forever (8/1), Red Stripes (10/1), Spike (16/1), Space War (20/1), Tinsill (20/1), Insolenceofoffice (25/1), Sunnyside Bob (25/1), Very First Blade (33/1), Reflation (66/1)
A fairly low key start to the card although connections appear to be trying the same tactics with A J Cook that worked well last year a prep run at Redcar before being brought here and he’s of obvious interest. Space War may go better this time around if not ridden so aggressively with Red Forever another to note if he’s in the same form as last time. Our Place In Loule is a frustrating sort but he could go close along with Perfect Words who is more consistent than many in this grade. TONI'S A STAR is the suggestion though having won off a higher mark in the past and it would be a fitting winner as the only female horse in the race on what is very much a ladies night at the track.
