Never landed a telling blow at Beverley latest and looks to face a stiff test under topweight. Getting some respite from the handicapper but others preferred.
Up in the ratings after her win at Carlisle but holding her form well after reassessment and went close off the same mark at Musselburgh 18 days ago. place claims again if able to dish out a repeat dose.
Well held latest but has only had four starts and is unexposed from a handicapping perspective. One to bear in mind for one of the places if supported.
Won over an extended mile at Beverley on her penultimate start but was unable to back it up in a tougher last time out. This looks a bit easier and the fact she has coped with cut in the ground boosts her claims. Draw could have been kinder though.
Still unexposed and getting better with each run for his new yard. More to do here but still has scope from his current rating and would be dangerous to rule out.
Still a maiden after 17 previous starts but is on a handy mark if the first-time cheekpieces help her to concentrate. Wide draw not ideal but rider's 5lb claim helps at the weights and, given that she is best with some cut in the ground, she should at least be suited by the conditions.
Well backed on debut for his new yard at Ayr last month but faded under pressure near the finish. Significant cut in the ground is also a new challenge for him, so may be best watched as he has a bit to prove just now.
Improved when tried over C&D latest and may have a bit more to offer. Yard has endured problems in getting its horses right this season but has now turned the corner. Interesting contender for sure.
Gone up 12lb after after wins at Ayr and Wolverhampton; but was well held from this mark at Pontefract in his bid for the hat-trick latest. Worst of the draw today and ground softer than ideal are further complications and may be best to look elsewhere for win only purposes.
Hints of a return to form of late and positive that she is back near a winning mark. Faded over 10f latest and better judged on previous efforts over shorter trips this season. Can sometime leave herself with a lot to do by starting slowly, but handily drawn so feasible she can get a good tow into the race. One to consider.
Form uninspiring this season and needs to prove he's trained on into his three-year-old season. One to be a tad wary of just for now.
Bits and pieces of form that suggest she has a race within her but tries a new trip and needs to prove her stamina will hold out.
Knocking on the door and looks capable of paying his way at some point. Came up short when well backed last time and this looks a tougher assignment for his retrieval mission.
Achieved a lenient handicap mark after three very average efforts. Possible he may improve now handicapping but risky option nonetheless. Others look more convincing.
Didn't quite see out the mile on handicap debut at Wetherby and needs to post a much improved effort.
Forecasts
Whatsthemessage (4/1), Vaulted (11/2), Size Matters (13/2), Thornton (15/2), George Reme (10/1), Pioneering (10/1), Mama Africa (12/1), Fleetfoot Jack (14/1), Doria Road (14/1), Yorkshire Pudding (16/1), Tesko Fella (18/1), Kilbaha Lady (25/1), Ching Ching Lor (28/1), Super Ruby (40/1), Orientelle (40/1)
A chance is taken that DORIA ROAD can take a further step forward after a solid performance over C&D last month. Kevin Ryan's filly is still learning her trade and, having now proved she is suited by a mile, she can leave the boys cracked up if she continues to improve. Vaulted and Thornton are others members with feasible chances, while George Reme has dropped to a decent looking mark but needs to prove he still retains his enthusiasm and isn't just stuck in a rut. Pioneering also has claims after a sound display at Hamilton but his previous efforts were adverts for hitting the skids, so he needs to prove that wasn't just a one-off performance.
- Doria Road
- Vaulted
- Thornton
