Won three middle-distance handicaps in 10 days before finishing only third at Ayr when odds-on. Has been given a break since then which suggests something may have been amiss. Typical improver from this stable and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back despite his career-high mark.
Looked promising when landing a 1m2f maiden at Pontefract last year, but has not really progressed in three runs this term. Has been gelded since the last of those outings in June so there is potential for improvement.
Exposed middle-distance handicapper who has been performing with credit without getting his head in front this year. Drops back in trip after a couple of decent efforts over 1m6f and the visor he normally wears is reapplied. Looks to be in the handicapper's grip.
Progressive performer over a variety of distances who made it four wins from 11 starts when winning a handicap over 1m6f at Haydock last time. A 3lb rise takes him to his highest handicap mark so far, but he is on an upward curve and it may not be beyond him.
Has run on AW surfaces on his last five starts, winning one of them at Lingfield over 1m2f. Has winning form on turf so the return to grass should not be a problem, but he was well beaten on his only other try at this trip so stamina is a worry.
Held up when winning his last two handicaps at Lingfield and Windsor and is 8lb higher than for the first of those successes which is by no means prohibitive. On the upgrade and although this is a tougher race than the ones he has been wining, he warrants plenty of respect.
Remains a maiden after seven starts ranging from 1m to 2m, but shaped well over 1m2f at Lingfield last time, suggesting this extra 2f would be ideal. Likely to be thereabouts, but may find one or two improvers a bit too strong.
Has not won since March, 2014, and was running on turf for the first time in almost two years when last of six at Epsom a month ago. Needs to show significant improvement to make an impact in a strong race.

A competitive middle-distance handicap which features several performers who could still be ahead of the handicapper. Top weight Lugano was seriously progressive until failing at Ayr last time and there is every chance he will bounce back, while Stamford Raffles is on an upward curve and may not have been caught by the handicapper just yet. Archippos is another who may not have reached the ceiling of his ability, but the two who most catch the eye are THUNDERING BLUE and C'est No Mour. The latter has strong claims in his bid for a hat-trick, but the selection just gets the vote on the basis of a decisive win last time and the prospect of significant improvement over this trip.
