22L ninth of 10 on debut at Newbury last month (6f, soft) when green and failing to justify the 5-1 odds about him. May have shown some ability at home to be sent off at that price, so could do a fair bit better for the experience.

Has run to a similar level of form in both starts so far at Goodwood (6f, good) and more recently Lingfield (6f, good to soft). The form of that second effort does not look red hot, so he is likely to need some improvement to be repeating or improving upon that finishing position.

25-1 but probably ran better than that when beaten less than 3L on debut at Nottingham (5f, good) last month. Looks a likely improver for this extra 160 yards and could take a decent stride forward.

Ran well enough on his debut here over 5f (firm) in June, but was found out in a better maiden at Windsor last time, when he could not better that initial effort. This is not as tough, but he will still need improvement to figure.

Made a promising debut at Newbury (6f, good) last month, when getting the hang of things later on and coming home well to be beaten just over 1L. Has had three weeks or so since then and should hopefully be able to to improve. If so, then he will go very close.

10,000gns foal who then sold for €10,500 as a yearling. Pedigree is largely geared towards 7f-1m, though also some stamina in there too. Half-sister to four winners, out of an unraced dam. Stable's juveniles always to be respected and a market check suggested on this one's debut.

Improved for her debut here (5f, firm) when beaten under 2L into second at Epsom (6f, good) last time, that in spite of not really getting the hang of that track. Could be a fair bit more to come from her and she is not ruled out.
Not sold when the maximum bid was €7,000 as a yearling and is the first foal of a dam who was unplaced in maidens from 1m2f-1m4f, though a half-sister to 1m2f Listed winner Saphira's Fire. Grandam Group-placed over 1m½f. Yard has has a 2yo turf winner this term, so market check suggested, though probably one to watch.

Forecasts

Swing Out Sister (2/1), He's Our Star (9/4), Three Little Birds (11/4), Diamond Express (11/2), Helvetian (6/1), Spanish Star (9/1), Courteous Crown (12/1), Avenging Red (20/1), Western Dynamisme (50/1)

Verdict

Helvetian looks likely to be capable of better than he showed on debut, while Swing Out Sister could also make significant strides here. Spanish Star, Avenging Red, He's Our Star and Diamond Express are others with a potential claim on the main prize, depending on who can come on most this time, but preference is for the solid form of THREE LITTLE BIRDS, who deserves to bag one of these. Courteous Crown is the most interesting debutante and a market check is suggested to gauge confidence.
  1. Three Little Birds
  2. Swing Out Sister
  3. He's Our Star
