Beat a plater when scoring at Kempton in April but was a fair second at the same track last time. Soundly beaten on two previous starts in this grade but was unlucky in running in one of them. Looks high enough in the weights at present.
Third of four last time and now runs over a new trip for the first time. Appears to be finding her mark which has fallen to 5lb below her last success. There is a suspicion she may be better on AW surfaces so the forecast softer conditions are a worry.
Best efforts have come with some cut in the ground including her Goodwood victory. Tackles a new trip here today with improvement needed off this mark.
Earned her current mark when third in a Yarmouth maiden. Was effectively 6lb "well-in" when trounced at Newmarket subsequently so appears up against it. On the plus side last year's winning trainer has secured a rider in irrepressible form and three-year-olds have a good record in this race.
Won twice last term but is has been a different story this season with four very ordinary runs so far. Handicapper is relenting and yard had a winner on Tuesday. Handles soft ground and not the forlorn hope her recent efforts may indicate.
Has form on the forecast soft conditions but still appears a few pounds better on quicker ground. That causes some concern here as she needs to deliver a career best in order to score.
Has been struggling in lower grade races lately and gets more help from the handicapper. Headgear is removed and it is hard to be enthusiastic about her prospects.
Locally trained filly who has shown some ability on AW surfaces. Makes her turf debut on a workable mark and with a pedigree which suggests she should handle the forecast conditions.
Forecasts
Coral Sea (7/2), Nightingale Valley (7/2), Zilza (9/2), Andalusite (6/1), Dynamic Girl (15/2), Porto Ferro (8/1), Very Honest (14/1), Settle Petal (14/1)
It is hard to build a convincing case for many in this and a chance is taken with CORAL SEA. Charles Hills' runner handles cut and this new trip may unleash some improvement. Three-year-olds have a good recent record in this and the booking of Jim Crowley looks noteworthy. Dynamic Girl could put in an improved display with the stable showing signs of a revival and topweight Nightingale Valley has been unlucky not to add to her tally following her Kempton success in April.
- Coral Sea
- Nightingale Valley
- Dynamic Girl
