Went well on penultimate start at Doncaster over this trip off today's rating, finishing close second. Perhaps too keen since in amateur riders event at Ascot, not dismissed.

All out to beat Avalanche over 1m at Killarney last month, up 4lb for that win and should remain competitive.

Work to do based on two runs this season since joining current handler, others make significantly more appeal in a competitive event.

Just one win from 22 on turf, but has run two excellent races at the Curragh lately over 7f/1m and has to be taken very seriously coming here off a fair mark.

Two wins from 12 starts and down to a lenient handicap mark now based on solid efforts at Limerick and Naas recently over much further. Drops significantly in trip here and worth a market check.

Winner over a mile at Gowran Park last month, exploiting low mark on first start for this yard. This is tougher but more spring in his step for this handler and cannot be ruled out.

Comes here on the back of a pair of wins over hurdles and is attractively weighted based on previous Flat form. Wears tongue strap for the first time on the level and must be given a big chance.

Three wins from five starts around here and placed in the other two, recent form is not that enticing but dropped 6lb below previous winning mark and return to this venue could be the spark that is needed.

Poor last month over 5f at Bellewstown, back up in trip for this assignment, scored off a mark of 69 over this trip on the AW in December, probably has place claims at most.

Just held by Allegio over 1m at Killarney last time out, is 2lb better off with that rival now and very much one to consider.

Up 6lb for winning Killarney contest over 1m a fortnight ago, that was a breakthrough success on seasonal return. There could be more to come and leading trainer was on the board here yesterday.

On a long losing streak now and yet to win on turf, six starts this year for current handler have lacked promise and makes no appeal as a winner in waiting for this race.

Back to form off a short break when winning at Down Royal in June over this trip, no easy task attempting follow up from 7lb higher mark now.

Verdict

KNOCKMAOLE BOY makes decent appeal in a trappy contest having won his previous two starts over hurdles. He's on a nice weight based on his previous Flat form and should go well for the Elliott team. Last year's winner Beau Satchel hasn't been in great form but us always respected around his place, while Grainne's Dream could have more to offer after a winning start for this yard last time out. Allegio and Avalanche are worth considering on their Killarney one-two last time out while Gowran Park winner Hasselnott also looks to have benefitted from a change of scenery.
  1. Knockmaole Boy
  2. Grainne's Dream
  3. Beau Satchel
