A winner at Redcar and Pontefract last year he's generally been a long way below form since although there was a glimmer of hope last time out at Ripon. Slipping now in the weights he got caught out too far back in race that turned into a sprint last time and will be well suited a strongly run race here.
Had looked consistent rather than progressive in maidens and on his handicap debut but stepped right up on his previous form back in maiden company at Thirsk last time over a mile. The switch to turf looked to suit him (all previous runs on AW) although the handicapper has reacted in raising him 10lb from his initial handicap mark to 87.
Found it far easier in a 0-75 last time out and duly obliged with a win at long last taking advantage of a falling mark to record his first win since his debut. Now finds himself back up in grade and not sure to build on his last run.
Blinkers go on for the first time in a bid to end what is starting to look a fairly long losing run. Didn't look suited by a small field tactical race last time out and will be seen to best advantage in a strongly run race but still remains above his last winning mark.
Comes from a stable that are in good form at the moment but hasn't won since completing a hat-trick as a three-year-old in 2013. Running out of excuses for his poor form now and not sure to appreciate this softer surface even off a mark 0f 70 which is a career low.
C&D winner in April off a mark of 61 and now finds herself off a 9lb higher mark making one of her regular visits to the track. Headgear goes back on this time but she looks a little too high in the weights now even around her favourite track.
Off the mark on his penultimate run (settled much better) at Leicester on his penultimate run over a mile on good ground. Reverted to type last time out when again pulling too hard and not finding his form and a surprise not to see him in some sort of headgear here.
Forecasts
El Cap (13/8), Bahama Moon (5/1), Character Onesie (5/1), Zodiakos (6/1), Off Art (6/1), Valley of Rocks (12/1), Make On Madam (16/1)
Quite an interesting little contest with the two three-year-olds El Cap and Valley Of Rocks taking on their elders with the former of that duo looking the most likely of that duo although a 10lb rise from his last handicap start won’t make things easy. Zodiakos found some form last time out but isn’t sure to build on that and both BAHAMA MOON and Character Onesie will be hoping for a race with some pace in here as that suits their run style. The former of that duo is now slipping in the weights and if he does get some pace to aim at can make the most of his falling mark.
- Bahama Moon
- El Cap
- Character Onesie
